[Card Army] FM-2 WILDCAT, 1:33, 2/2021

  • Courageously starting FM-2 by Card Army

Color parts are total 8 pages. They got coated with a fixative spray.

Frame parts are ~3 pages. They got glued to cardboard sheets.

  • The work for the cowling.

It is not clear in the photo but the kit paper seems to absorb the instant glue more than what I used to deal with.
I am not a big fan of coating back sides. But I guess I should

    The cowling is done

  • Yesss, he did it,

Seo, this is a most wanted building report.

Wish you a lot of patience and always a sharp blade.

  • The work for the inside of the cowling

I was supposed to use S11~S17 to form a round shape.

I didn't use them since the cowling looked fairly circular.

I also didn't use 65e/g. They are inner parts covered by 65i.

    So here is the cowling.

Thank you so much for your kind encouragement.

I am happy to work on this FM-2 with a little concern on the construction of the landing gear bay.

    We will see.

    Robi,

I got this kit about a month ago. Since then, I had wondered whether I was going to do it.

After jcvandenbergh asked about the frame error, it was time for me to do it.

I hope I could have enough patience as you wish . Thank you very much.

  • Zaphod,

It turned out that I could manage engine parts. Fits are great. Marcin allows kinds of loose fit, I am not making much progress though.

    I will keep you posted.

    Seo by the Bay

  • Hello Seo,

If anyone can do it, it's you! I will follow your report with curiosity, and wish you good luck!

    Robert

    Robert,

Thank you very much for your kind and impressive encouragements.

I have a concern in building landing gear bays but fits among parts seem great.

  • The work for the center axle structure

By the way, can you folks see the difference between 61a and 61b?

Frankly, I could not see it for a while. The grid is half inch long. (12.5mm)

These are the panel parts between cylinder heads.

  • The work continues on the cylinders.

I was supposed to use 60a/c/d/e/(g x2) to form and keep the circular shapes.

I use 60a and 60g (top) only. I thought it would be difficult to align 60b/f/h with these circular frames.

I just connect 60b/f/h as I assemble fuselages. That's why the cylinder is empty inside.

But using 60a/c/d/e/(g x2) would be easier to assemble 60b/f/h though.

  • You are My Hero! Personally, I would balk before that landing gear and despair. Give me any in number of cylinders, I do not care... but this gear... gruesome

    Thomas,

Thank you very much for your great encouragement.

I am just courageous enough to start but I hope I would be patient enough to finish.

    Seo by the Bay

  • The first middle parts of cylinder heads are done.

Adding the second right side parts of cylinder heads.

    Three down, six to go.

Oh my, there are white line markings for fin attachments later, which needs to be aligned.

  • The second right side parts of cylinder heads are done.

The third left side parts of cylinder heads

    Done

They looks like Terran marines. :D

  • Hi Seo,

  • Robi,

Thank you very much for the information. The products look great but definitely they are out of my league. Personally I am not a good painter. Surprising my elder brother is.

Here are a few of his works. He is not building models any more though.

All his work didn't use any LC parts... Amazing... Aren't they?

  • Still working on the engine.

Four oval shape parts between the cylinders are added.

Working on the spark plug lines

  • The final parts of the engine were added.

The engine got Installed into the cowling

    Now done for the engine.
