Verkleinern von Bildern für das Forum

    Liebe Kartonisten,


    wie ihr alle wisst sind die Bilder, die ihr auf unser Forum hochladen könnt, in den Ausmassen und der Speichergröße eingeschränkt. Grundsätzlich kann jeder von uns pro Beitrag ein Bild einstellen, das auf dem Server abgelegt sein soll. Der Speicherbedarf dieses Bildes darf dabei die Größe von 200 kByte nicht übersteigen. Wenn eine Kantenlänge 640 Pixel überschreitet, so wird in der Ansicht des Beitrags eine reduzierte Darstellung eingeblendet.


    Da nun viele nicht wissen, wie sie ihr hochauflösendes Mega-Bild "kleiner" bekommen, will ich hier eine kurze Anleitung einstellen.


    Am Sparsamsten geht dies mit dem kostenlosen OpenSource-Programm GIMP für Windows 2.2 (http://www.gimp.org).


    Nach der Installation öffnet ihr euer Mega-Bild über "Datei->Öffnen". Habt ihr euer Bild geöffnet wird dies in einem Extra-Fenster dargestellt.
    Klickt nun in diesem Extra-Fensters auf den Menüpunkt "Bild->Bild skalieren". Es öffnet sich ein Dialog in dem die Breite bzw. Höhe verändert werden kann. Überschreibt hier den maximalen Wert mit 640. Im unteren Beispieldialog würde ich 3264 Pixel "Breite" gegen 640 Pixel ersetzen. Dann betätigt ihr die Schaltfläche "Skalieren". Fertig. Das Bild wurde geschrumpft.
    Nun muss dieses verkleinerte Bild nur noch abgespeichert werden ("Datei->Speichern unter"). Verwendet nach Möglichkeit die Dateiendung GIF bzw. JPG, da diese Formate das Bild am Besten komprimieren.

    Hab' zur Zeit Schwierigkeiten mit dem Anhängen von Bildern.
    Meine Verkleinerungsmethode ist bisher, das Bild an 'ne Mail anzuhängen, dann wird's ja automatisch verkleinert, so auf unter 100 KB.
    Wollte solche Bilder anhängen, bekomme die Meldung: Dateianhang zu groß oder falsches Format - dabei geht's bei mir z.B. um 50 KB-Bilder im jpg.-Format.
    Was mache ich falsch??????????????????

    Could I make a few suggestions for publishing images on the site?


    Regardless of what software you are using, try to accomplish as many of the following steps as you feel comfortable with, roughly in this order:


    1. Resize the image to 600 pixels width. This is a suggestion which will enable viewers with smaller monitors to see the whole page without scrolling. The site will accept 640 pixel width without automatically resizing.


    If you do not resize the image, the software on the site will allow you to click in the automatically resized (smaller) picture in the thread, which leaves the option to see a really big picture in a separate window. But how often do you really want, or need, this?


    2. Find the option "Publish to the web" or similar. This saves the picture without extra resources (previews, comments, etc). All these extra options will eat up your available 200 kb of size, which means lower quality of the image.


    3. Find the option to increase jpg-compression (which means a little bit less quality). Chances are that you will find it at the same place as the "Publish to the web"- option. If you choose a standard setting of around 75 percent quality you will loose no visible quality at 600 pixels width, and the resulting image size will be just around 100 kb or something like that for a normal image. Which means that the page will load that much faster. Even 50 percent quality is quite acceptable.


    4. Now "Save as..." and give the image an appropriate name & place on your hard disk drive. Use this image for uploading as an attachment.


    What you gain this way is that you have the original image left untouched (which means you can use it for other purposes). Each page on the site will load much quicker, and it will be pleasant enough (in my view, at least) to watch.


    You see very many threads with huge images which you really don't click on, because they are already good enough at the 640 pixel width. If you had resized them, you could have used more of your 200 kb allowed space per image for higher quality. On the other hand, you don't really need all that quality (75 percent jpg compression is very much alright, remember?).


    So if you do all of the above steps, as your normal procedure, it will speed up viewing for everybody and there will be less pressure on the site as a whole.


    Very often you can also crop your photos and make them square, at around 300 pixel width, if there is just a small detail you wish to show. This means quicker loading of the page.


    It is rather fun to learn a few tricks which probably are hidden within your graphic programme in some menu or other. I am sure you'll find them soon enough.

    ich benutze ein kleines Programm mit dem namen Scale2Scale. Ich glaube es war ein Nutzer hier in dem Froum, der das Programm schrieb. Wenn es nicht hier war, dann hab ich es von http://www.papership.de


    Es funktioniert einfach super und es ist leicht zu bedienen :D

    Hallo Leute,
    scale2scale ist natürlich immer das Mittel der Wahl. Das ist von Heribert für diesen Zweck für dieses Forum geschrieben worden. Nistet sich in das Rechtsklick-Menü ein, einfach 'als Forenbild speichern' wählen und dann passt die Größe und Dateigröße. Die Endung _kartonbau wird hinzugefügt an das neue Bild.

    Hallo, Leute,
    da ich meine Bilder mit Picasa2 (kostenlos, von Google) zuschneide und bearbeite, exportiere ich sie anschließend in einen Ordner "Bilder zum Raufladen" und kann dabei die Bildgrösse festlegen. Was einfacheres habe ich bisher nicht gefunden.

    Das Picasa2 habe ich mir jetzt runtergeladen und muss auch sehr zufrieden feststellen das es wirklich Kinderleicht ist (was auch gut ist denn ich bin ja eins)

    Moin,
    in meiner Kamera (Systemkamera DMC-FZ 62) gibt es im Menü die Möglichkeit die Bilder fürs online-Format zu verkleinern.
    Vielleicht einfach mal im kameramenü nachsehen. :rolleyes:

    in der Kamera würde ich es nur umstellen, wenn Du die Bilder für nichts anderes brauchst. Du hast die Bilder dann ja nicht in voller Auflösung.

    Moin Jan,


    da hab ich mich wohl zu ungenau ausgedrückt.
    Ich mache natürlich die Aufnahmen in höchster Auflösung, kann aber im "Anschau-Modus" direkt an der Kamera die Bilder nachbearbeiten und als Neue Dateien abspeichern, so daß ich jedes Bild in 2 Formaten/Größen vorliegen habe.

    ich nutze für das Verkleinern der Originalbilder (bei mir ca. 2-3 MB) das Programm IRFANVIEW mit einem Pugin, der das Bild für das Web anpasst. An den Einstellungen kann man dann selber "herumdoktoren", um die optimale Ausbeute zu erreichen.
