This is old Fly model kit with average print quality. It got some "face lifting" in photoshop and re-printed on 210 g/m2 paper.

(But don´t forget to colour the edges....)

Because of complex curves of canopy I can't form it as one peace. I've divide it on two parts, vacuform them separately and then assemble together.
-
Hello Marmot,
the canopy is a masterpiece !

I second that too, Till. I had to give the SuperModel kit to my kid to play with it (although he didn't destroyed it, rather "fixed" it for his plays). The whole model is a mess.
Marmot, this one looks really good. The canopy is superb! So if you are not using te original paper from the kit... what is the kind of paper and printer you are using?

Hello marmot,
great, great, great!!!!
best regards

Hallo marmot, the canopy-work is a great one! Could you explain the work step by step, please. This part of modelling is one of my most critical.

You can find excellent tutorial on Papermodelers forum in the Mitchell thread. I'm make canopies in similar way.1. Make paper form, fill it with putty/plaster/filler - any stuff that can be hard enough when hardened

2. When it's hardened, remove paper form and sand it to smooth surface and right profile.
3. Clear plastic should be warmed to soft condition and vacuformed on canopy mold. I'm use simple DIY device and vacuum cleaner:

Just one question: should I remove swastikas from my photos or this is not strong rule?

Just one question: should I remove swastikas from my photos or this is not strong rule?Hi Marmot,
This is a very good idea to erase those bad signs. (they are forbidden according German law)
But your work is of its finest and showing your methode of vacuum forming the canopy is great.
Looking forward for the further progress.

And final part
-
well done - great and clean work!
I especially like the "face lift", the resulting model is very persuasive. Although it is a rather basic model (basic with regard to the rather small number of parts and clear lines) the result is very attractive.

GREAT !

Very nice work!
-
Hello Marmot,
very fine work indeed !
I especially love the "spinners" (covers of propeller blades) with the red-and-white-pattern painted on.
What will you be doing next?

Thank's to all!
Next project probably will be Maly modelarzh Su-22 M4 repainted to Su-17 M4 (the same plane actually) in Soviet camo.
-
