The shot of the model was taken with the camera a bit high for good comparison. I've taken the comparative shot again with the camera lowered.

Here is an elevated shot of the completed south side of the model.

The work on Chambord is not finished. There is more work to do on the north side. However, before turning the model around to work on the back side, here are four summative shots of construction.
1. The donjon
2. The addition of the east wing
3. The addition of the west wing
4. The completed chateau (south) -
Royal looking, John! Congratulations =D> =D> =D> =D>
You know that, when we talked about this model, I had a lot of reservations regarding some details. The least that I can say is that you managed to overcome them all in a grand style :respekt: :respekt: :respekt: -
Thank you Ricardo. I appreciate your comments.
Here is the north side of the chateau. You can see in the center, a white configuration leading out from the central door to the model's label. This is the last construction site.
-
If you look at the center of the photo on the left you will see a brown bridge coming out from the building. That is what we are constructing now to finish the model. Over on the left is Robert de Parme tower. The corner tower on the right is Chapelle Tower.
The elevation of the shot of the model on the right is a bit high to match the Ludwig's photo, but the similarities are striking.

Here is an interesting photograph I found on the internet some time ago. When I first saw it, I didn't understand its orientation. But now that I've built the structure, it all begins to make sense. It shows tourists walking south beside the west wing of the chateau - Communes D'Orleans. That's Chaudron Tower on the left.

Hello Hans-Joachim,
Thanks. I have a couple of architectural models in the wings, but they have been featured in the gallery of the architectural section so I'll be working on them off-line.
I do have to finish Stephansdom in Wein before Christmas so that I can photograph it and add it to the "Cathedrals in Card" post.
And then there is the 'Chateaux of the Loire Valley book'...Cheers,
John -

Thank you Thomas and Fred for your kind comments.
Fred, I'm off now to finish that Austrian beauty. After it's finished in the Construction section, watch for it added to a photo of cathedrals in the architectural gallery under "Cathedrals in Card".Regards,
John
