Hi JC, the skinning looks very tight. =)

Hi, Royaloakmin! Glad you like the skin.

The skinning of the frame is now finished; the tail section will follow much later.
I do not worry too much about the imperfections in the white areas that will receive the wings carrying the weapons; Brzdic1 's build also shows the same phenomenon. I think it is more a problem of the model than of the builder. The openings for the wing frame are in the right place on both sides and some paint will do the rest.
The assembly 31 g-p (some kind of vent with panels that can be built in an open position) is a real challenge a thing to break your teeth on as we say. -
The rear cockpit with, among other equipment, the pilots seat:
-
@ Ober Freak and Brzdic1: I think I have found out the proper location for part 43a: could it not simply be meant to be the rounded 'wall' that supports the rear section of 43b, thus closing the gap between 43 c and 43d? It fits so perfectly there that I can hardly think of any other solution.
-
The front and rear cockpit have all their equipment in place now, except, of course, for the rear cockpit door (to be added later in an opened position), and the details that are attached to the canopies.
Also on this picture: the canopy template frame (18 parts). I don't know if it is really necessary when using the prefab canopy instead of assembling the two canopies from 11 (!) perspex strips, but it may still be handy using it as a support. The prefab canopy (to the left of it) fits very well around the frame... but will it fit on the model? The instructions advise to separate the front and rear part of the canopy to make it easier to fix them to the fuselage. Is this a good idea? Any advise on this point from my colleagues will be welcome.
-
Several drops of super glue from a tube that I had left open destroyed my entire canopy and portions of the fuselage. No rescue possible - I threw everything away right away... Not a real problem for me - my joy is much more in building a model, than in owing a finished one.
So I will soon be back with a new building report - I will let you know. -
Bad news, bad glue!
I wish you more luck with your next project.
