And I paint only white edges, wheels and sometimes complex small parts only acrylic paints. -
This is only three days (three nights) of my work... I will want make more
-
Everything looks good.Wait for more
-
Yesterday I have completely finished a tank tower (glazed all periscopes and made a gun - very long!). Cut out all skating rinks.
You see it in next saturday... -
News from my workshop
-
Tracks and rinks...
-
Nice work Hogges!!
Looking forward to see more! -
I want say few word about making a tank tower.
Assembly of a tower does not represent special problems but detail 48j is shorter for 5 mm! And model has no reserve color area. Very bad.Details 49 I highly recomend glue only after making some tracks - it must be just a bit narrower than square holes in the tracks!
Detail 48 (gun) has unnecessary thin strip on the right side. Strip must be cutted.
I reccomend make second detail like 48b and glue it to opposite side 48a.And now body is almost ready except many small parts, tracks and rinks
To be continiue in this Thursday, 23...
-
And now 23/02/2006. Tank body is nice container for small parts...
-
very nice work so far, it looks really good... what's the scale of this model? i'm too lazy to search it now (plus, i'm at work, so i mustn't browse the web for my own fun, right? :P).
-
Scale is standard for paper vehicles 1:25. Body length is approx 30 cm. Size of glass in periscopes is approx 2mm x 4 mm =)
-
News from my workshop. In my cash i found 2 eurocent. It size is the same like coin of 5 copecks! Enjoy!

How did you do the nuts and bolts on the wheels? Are these laser cut parts?
best regards,
MichaelThank You!
This is not laser cutted parts. Nuts and bolts is maked from paper color (in all paper volume) 160g/m2 "Canson". No paint. For making nuts and bolts I use punch and die sets (round (9 sizes) and hexahonal (4 sizes))
I hope You understand me.I use sets like this

Hi, Hogges!
Your tank shows the work of a professional. Beautiful details and very cleanly processes. Make me happy already on more of it.

@ Hogges - congratulations for your great work =D>
May I ask where I can get a similar punch and die set for making such small nuts and bolts? Thanks! -

May I ask where I can get a similar punch and die set for making such small nuts and bolts? Thanks! Please understannd me right. I do not wish to do advertising to the seller.
I buy my sets in England e-shop in January 2006 here:
http://www.historexagents.com/…sults.php?SupplierCode=PD
Photos of the sets (in previuos message) get from the http://www.steelmodels.com
But I can't found price for this items. I wrote message by e-mail to steelmodels and recieve only reading confirmation. -
@ Hogges. I didn't even think about the advertising for the seller...I guess that's not forbidden, anyway, if it was the case...
But you gave me a clear answer. Thanks a lot -
Ok.
I recommend historexagents with small limitations - some 2 or 3 very small punches (what I get in my package) has not flatted cutting edge. I spent small time and use grinding stone with small grain to fix it.
I recommend buy two sets together - round and hex for bolts and nuts.
IMHO this e-shop is better for criteria - quality/price. You can found many others punch and die sets for much more money.
If You found sets like my own but better please say me.Round set - has 9 punches from 4mm to 0.5mm
And hex sets has only four (4) punches... Sometimes may be need nuts more sizes... In my rinks I use large (1) and smaller (2) hex punchAll sets are really precision and has no deviation from orientation rigels and holes on both sides.

Green and brown parts are not ready yet.

10 days was spent by making tracks. Now I must cut all holes and make all tracks teeth on both sides. Square holes on the track do not match to the teeth of gear wheel =( I will try to cut teeth and glue it to gear wheel according to the track holes.
-
Hello ,
great job, looks good.Well,I `m every day more lazy .If i will do track for sure only 5 to 10 .Next will resin copy.
I wait next pics,reagards Piter -
Thank You for suggestion!
P.S. Total length of both caterpillar tracks is approx 48 inches (24 inches per each) -
Now one half of "tracks" way is done. All holes is cutted. All is making but only one half... 5 evenings fly away... One grid is one inch.
-
I found answer for my question. I don't want cut teeth! I make some tracks without holes shorter! You can see one of them cutted and glue in the center... This is test track. All next track I would correct in graphic editor and print and make again.
-
I am continue... Test foto, track and rinks don't glued!
-
Today is very late... I make some fotos. Cutted parts for another side...
144 thin holes was cutted, 74 thin stripes 1.5mm thick was cutted 74 "shirts" for this stirpes also cutted... And for today I cutted an glued above 1000 (one thousand) nuts and bolts for one visible side of the 18 rinks... 6 big round stripes with 12 nuts and 12 bolts and 15 small nuts and 15 bolts and 7 bolts per one rink. You can multip;e it sum by 18. Making was difficult - catch and sit bolts approx 0.5mm diameter and 0.2mm thick before glue still not vapour =)
I was fast and furios =)))))))))))) -
No words only show. I hope You understand my English and look after my work.
-
-
New photos. Without dashboards.
-
Dashboards is not glued!
