S & P MD-80 1/200

    Scissors & Planes is the trade name of a very prolific paper designer. He specializes in easy to build, small scale models and has a lot of different models. You can find some of it's models free, or if you want to repaint them (in ecardmodels, for example) you must pay him half of the revenues.

    So a friend of mine gave me a black and white model of S & P, and we agreed that I'll make some repaints. (He got permission, so there was no problem)

    Now, the MD-81, 82 and 83 look exactly the same from outside. The engine changes, and the 83 has some internal reinforcements. But from outside? Nothing. And we can't talk about the duck tail. I have pictures from the same plane with both conical and screwdriver tail. Usually the 81 and the older 82 has the conical tail, and all the 83 and recent 82 has the screwdriver one. That's all.

    You can find my repaints in ecardmodels. Stopped doing them because I love details. But for an easy fast model, there you have them.

    Scissors & Planes ist der Markenname eines sehr produktiven Papierdesigners. Er hat sich auf einfach zu bauende Kleinmodelle spezialisiert und bietet eine große Auswahl an Modellen. Einige seiner Modelle sind kostenlos erhältlich. Wer sie neu bemalen möchte (z. B. bei E-Card-Modellen), muss ihm die Hälfte der Einnahmen zahlen.

    Ein Freund schenkte mir ein Schwarz-Weiß-Modell von S&P, und wir vereinbarten, dass ich ein paar Neubemalungen vornehme. (Er bekam die Erlaubnis, also gab es kein Problem.)

    Die MD-81, 82 und 83 sehen von außen identisch aus. Der Motor ist anders, und die 83 hat einige interne Verstärkungen. Aber von außen? Nichts. Und vom Entenbürzel können wir gar nicht reden. Ich habe Bilder von demselben Flugzeug mit konischem und Schraubenheck. Normalerweise haben die 81 und die ältere 82 das konische Heck, und alle 83 und die neueren 82 haben das Schraubenheck. Das ist alles.

    Meine Repaints findet ihr in ecardmodels. Ich habe damit aufgehört, weil ich Details liebe. Aber für ein einfaches, schnelles Modell gibt es sie hier.

    When I was making repaints for the Historic Jetliners Group https://simviation.com/hjg/main.htm one of my secret pleasures was to make the same plane once and again with different liveries. In this models, I did it with the N932RD that was originally from Ryan (Ryanair) and later became part of Aeropostal. You can see too an hibrid livery from Spirit being used on YV253T.

    It's very probable that when I restart doing Mds sometime in the future, I'll release a lot of this "evolutions", maybe as a pack.

    Als ich für die Historic Jetliners Group https://simviation.com/hjg/main.htm Repaints erstellte, war es eine meiner heimlichen Leidenschaften, dasselbe Flugzeug immer wieder mit unterschiedlichen Lackierungen zu gestalten. Bei diesem Modell habe ich dies mit der N932RD getan, die ursprünglich von Ryanair stammte und später zu Aeropostal gehörte. Man sieht auch eine Hybridlackierung von Spirit, die auf der YV253T verwendet wird.

    Es ist sehr wahrscheinlich, dass ich, wenn ich irgendwann wieder mit Mds arbeite, viele dieser „Evolutionen“ veröffentlichen werde, vielleicht als Paket.

    Looking old folders found this MD-82 from Aeromexico Travel that was almost finished.
    So I finished the last details and uploaded it to ecardmodels, it should be available this Thursday

    Beim Durchstöbern alter Ordner fand ich diese fast fertige MD-82 von Aeromexico Travel.

    Ich habe also die letzten Details hinzugefügt und sie auf ecardmodels hochgeladen. Sie sollte diesen Donnerstag verfügbar sein. Mal sehen, ob ich weitere Repaints veröffentliche.

    Ecardmodels has just released two new repaints of the MD-80 from Scissors and Planes. They are an MD-83 from Aeromexico Travel and another MD-83 from Continental .

    Ecardmodels hat soeben zwei neue Repaints der MD-80 von Scissors and Planes veröffentlicht. Es handelt sich um eine MD-83 von Aeromexico Travel und eine weitere MD-83 von Continental.

    Beide im Maßstab 1:200. Viel Spaß damit!

    I made the experience that S&P models contain just the parts but no instructions at all. Might be nice models but for me without instructions useless and wasted money.

    I assume the new ones are the same?

    S&P are very simple and cheap planes, and there are generic instruction to assemble them somewhere.

    It really depends of your stile of models. Personally I love to assemble/design more complex models with more details, and 1/200 is too small for me.

    My own models have detailed instructions, of course

    But I usually end each repaint of this model in two or three hours, compared with the days or even weeks that I use to spend repainting my other models (like the tail of my DHC-6 Maldivian Dolphin).

    So there are modelers that like to assemble S&P models, and there are modeles that love something more difficult.

    S&P-Modelle sind sehr einfach und günstig, und es gibt allgemeinverständliche Bauanleitungen dafür.

    Es kommt ganz auf den Modellbaustil an. Ich persönlich baue und konstruiere lieber komplexere Modelle mit mehr Details, und 1:200 ist mir zu klein.

    Meine eigenen Modelle verfügen natürlich über detaillierte Anleitungen.

    Aber ich bin mit dem Neulackieren dieses Modells normalerweise in zwei bis drei Stunden fertig, im Vergleich zu den Tagen oder sogar Wochen, die ich früher für das Neulackieren meiner anderen Modelle brauchte (wie zum Beispiel das Leitwerk meiner DHC-6 Maldivian Dolphin).

    Es gibt also Modellbauer, die gerne S&P-Modelle bauen, und andere, die es etwas anspruchsvoller mögen.
