Bond Bug 3-Wheeler (1/50)

  • Although this is already completed, I took a few photos during construction. It's a very simple build. I scaled it to my preferred scale of 1/50.

The print used to be available (free) from 3-wheelers.com. I sprayed the sheet with acrylic varnish before starting.

    Diagram showing construction of components.

I started by making the three road wheels. The front wheel is different to the two rear wheels.

I decided to reinforce the lower body with cardboard, between the front wheel box and rear mount.

The completed 'chassis', showing rear axle, lights and front wheel box.

  • The front air scoop and front light housings. I used an orange-coloured marker pen to colour the edges.

The rear mudflaps, with edges coloured black.

The body cut out, folded and edge-coloured

The front lights and air scoop installed. Assembly of body started.

  • The front edge has to be trimmed after gluing.

    Completed, on a custom-made base.

The front light units, which were assembled individually and inserted into the cowlings, can be seen, together with the positions of the three wheels.

I will post photos of this, together with my Reliant Regal three-wheeler, in the Gallery.

    All completed!
