Light tank T-70 (Maly Modelarz №5 1979)

  • Some time ago I started assembling this model from an old magazine published in 1979 (it is older than me :) ).

Now the assembly is nearing completion, but I decided to publish the process.

Before assembling, I impregnated the parts with zapon varnish. I decided to start the assembly with the turret and rollers to check the condition of the paper.

The paper turned out to be very loose, the paint cracks when folded, so it is not easy to assemble. I covered the inside of the turret with cardboard, since the frame is very unreliable.

Next, I assembled the body, which I also covered with cardboard on the inside for strength.

This is how I assembled the rollers. They had to be covered with colored paper on the outside, since there were no stripes for this in the magazine.

  • Next, I glued the shields and drawers onto them. The shields had to be glued on the back side with colored paper, since they were not painted.

    Replaced drawn meshes:

Made a slipway for installing rollers:

  • I glued the boxes with mesh and the transmission hatch.

Than installed the mufflers and exhaust pipes (the mufflers were made from brown cardboard).
