BP Autotanker (Koolwheelz, 1/50)

My recently-completed card model of the 1958 BP Autotanker. The actual vehicle was built as a one-off and was based on the Leyland 'Dromedary' chassis. Matchbox Toys released a diecast version, which was very popular. The Matchbox versions were also used (some re-painted as fire-engines) by Gerry Anderson in the original 'Thunderbirds' series.

The scale is approximate. I applied some layering (hubcaps, filling hatches, sliding hatch and walkway) and weathering.

Yes, it's not exactly as I planned!

After completion, and before the planned gloss varnish, I decided to colour the inside of the model (it is an open build type) with a black Sharpie..... Bad idea, it started to seep through to the printed side.

I was REALLY annoyed 😡

I therefore decided to add some pastel weathering in an attempt to 'hide' it.

Not my best, really, but I will build another one (a nice glossy one) as soon as I can get to the printer shop......
