A Sunday progres report on steam loco.

I started working on mainstay frame, as the first went crossbars, brackets under the boiler and the rear coupling chest.

A lot of time absorbs makeing a rivets and all the screws and nuts and gluing them into the right place, and this is just the beginning of fun.

I also made a printout of a test nut with a visible bolt tip 1mm and 1.5 mm and I think it's successful. Rate yourself 😊 . I will apply them in more visible places, while the standard laser goes in less visible places.

I painted the element between the cylinder and the rear coupling box before laying.

When the paint dry, I checked how the laser elements fits up

I added some details, small brackets for the power pipe on the crossbones, the front bracket under the boiler

Dry fitting and gluing crossplates to the mainstay steel plate . And of course what I like the most riveting and screwing 😁

Another batch of photos from the construction of the locomotive. The elements of the support for the guide of the front half-bogie spring band, the fastening of the semi-bogie's pivot and the last elements of the brackets on the inter-cylinder cross chest are in their place.

I had less time for gluing recently, but I came back and threw some photos from the workshop.

As of today, cleanouts have been made on the boiler stand, buckles, endcarriage which I have actually remade from scratch and add some details. The frame is also already a whole part. I also remade the sheathing of the stand and supplemented it with riveting and division of the sheets. I also covered the drum and smoke boxe. The set of springs also flew under the knife. Hi everyone.

Today a little update from the workshop. I made the main compressed air tanks supplying the braking system of the steam locomotive, I also started the refilling of the sill bolts and finished the grinding and painting of the steam locomotive's wheelsets.

The next set of photos shows the supplemented brake line brackets on the endcarriage, the missing pieces of the supply pipe with the mounting to the endcarriage, and the brake parts. Namely cylinder mounting sockets, brake cylinders themselves, brake hangers and pads.

I was supposed to take care of the springs, but it fell on the semi-carriage.

I also pre-painted the interior before gluing the rest of the sheet metal. A few details and you can paint and add traces of use. As additional elements, a grease nipple of the spigot socket system has been added.

Today some more painting and fitting the wheels to the mainstay. It's safe to say that the steam locomotive is finally back on its feet 😁 it remains to set the spacing and paint the axles.
