Takao DN 1/430

Hi gentlemen,

This model was designed for 1/250.
I reduced it size to 1/430. ( I intended to reduce it to 1/400. But by my mistake it became 1/430)

I applied putty for plastic model below water line to hide joint line of skin and painted with lacquer.

Dear Freunde,

Here some more pictures.
When I started making Takao, I thought it was difficult to cut out round window neatly. So, I decided not to cut them out.
Later when I made Fuso, I tried and found out it not so difficult to cut them out with design knife. I should have tried it on Takao.

When I bought this model at Digital Navy, I found out John Dohmen's work of 1:250 Takao. I was so much impressed and bought this.
During construction I refered to John Dohmen's works as there are some missing explanation on assembly instruction.

I copied his idea to put boat beside Takao.

I found out his picture on PDF file in KMPs here. I think you have already known it. If not, I recommend you to see it. It's super!!!

This is so cool!!
Could you just place the model next to something familiar (like a banana or so) to see its size?

With admiration, Thom

Hi Thom,

After I took these phots. My breakfast was ready.
This morning I took 5 bananas and 500ml of Coca Cola.
Enough nutrition for day's card modelling.
Sorry my poor artistic talent on stuff arrangement though I live in a country of flower arrangement.

Kind regards,

Hi Gloomy,

Thank you.
Overall length of this ship is 48cm. I guess almost same length as Krakowiak you are making.
I want you to join 1:400 club.
Making good use of your technique, I believe you can make one better than mine.

Best regards,
