Star Trek TOS Mini Diorama/ PR Models / 1:1000 [FERTIG]

Hi Friends,

It is unusual for me to have two projects at once. Even more unusual to build a free model. Still, as a teenager I was quite taken by the work of illustrator Franz Joesph who envisioned an entire fleet out side of what was show on the 1960's TV Series Star Trek. The Czech group of PR Models who produce models in the style of "Minibox" established by ABC Magazine have produced a fine series of ships drawn by Franz Joseph.

I have taken their original model and reduced it by 55% achieving (I think!) a scale of about 1:1000. I intend to show a couple of these ships, nothing major, just something to work on while I ponder the travels and ports of call of the SLOMAN ALSTERTOR.

So, a few background images and then I will start construction.

Beam Me Up,

Cris

Hello Friends,

Having had the epiphany I was looking for regarding the SLOMAN ALSTERTOR, I have decided to cut short my plans for a diorama and start on her IMMEDIATELY! Ok, ok I finish this up ...and will instead use a static display.

So, the first vessel, a PTOLEMY Class Tug with two containers, is complete and mounted on the display. In the last picture, a Warp Nacelle fresh from the San Francisco Fleet Yards awaits installation on a SALADIN Class Destroyer.

Must go, Trouble with Tribbles...

Hello Friends,

The second vessel, a Destroyer Escort is complete. The last picture shows the saucer section for the remaining vessel, a CONSTITUTION Class Cruiser.

I am off to perfom The Corbomite Manuver

Kind Regards,

Cris

Hi Cris,

thank you for introducing PR-Models website to me. I have already visited it and found some very interesting miniatures.

I will keep eye on your starship diorama's progress. Lovely work!

Best regards
Thomas

Hello Friends,

With the addition of a shuttlecraft making a landing, my little attack fleet is finished. I highly recommend any of the PR Models, they are a pleasure to build.

Thanks for reading along.

Hallo Cris!

Marko

Hi Thomas, Scotty and Marko!

Thanks for your kind words!

@Marko: I agree with you about the right icon...to a degree. Even on imaginary ships, one must do their research. Please see the image below and then read here. The unit was formed just after "The Balance of Terror" in 2246:thumbsup:

But your right of course, the icon does not really match.

Thank you again for your praise friends!
