paper STS 1/50

:usenglish:
Hello everyone,
I have started a rough built of a 1/50 scale space shuttle created by a japanese model (download link :makerhttp://my.vector.co.jp/servlet/System.FileDownload/download/http/0/281143/pack/data/home/traffic/papersts.zip).
As you can see this is an uncouloured model.
I am just building it to see what it looks like and maybe one day, I will try to make a painted version with cockpit interior, but it is another story.
(Apologyse for the german traduction, I use Google because I can't write in german whithout making everybody laugh at me)

best regards Dardard.

Hallo Zusammen,
ich habe einen groben Bau eines Space Shuttle in 1:50 begonnen. Gibts auf einer japanischen Seite: http://my.vector.co.jp/servlet/System.Fi…nload/http/0/28
1143/pack/data/home/traffic/papersts.zip
Wie ihr sehen könnt ist dies ein Weißmodell.
Ich baue es lediglich um zu sehen wie es wirkt und vielleicht baue ich eines Tages eine farbige Version mit Cockpit, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte.

Hi Dardard,
no problem, just write in English. We will translate and I took the liberty to do so allready. Google is quite awkward.
Nice to have you aboard. Interesting build you have there. The couloured version with Cockpit would certainly be of interest to a lot of people here.

Cheers
Jan

Thank you very much Jan (Viele danke Jan).

Today a little update with the left wing frame work
First all the module separate, then all together waiting for a skin.

I am very surprised with the (relative) strength of the different subbasembly.
As I build it for try only, I have printed it on 80g and 110g paper instead of 186g and 430g (0,3mm and 0,65mm) without laminate anything. And when everything is glued on it does not crush.
Of course you will not play with it too long.

Happy modeling to evryone

After a while, both wing frame are complete at the exception of the control surface (too fragile to put yet).
The skinning of the top of the wing is finish but will need some correction (it did not cover all the wing).
Now the two wings are put together with the fuselage, it looks more like an orbiter that time.
Next step, skinning the underside of the wings (and filling the gaps between wings and fuselage).

The assembly method gives a strong design but also a poor fit and also I am not the best model maker.

Cissors and glue for everyone
