This is the very well-printed and free model of Osaka Castle from Canon. The history is readily available on the web so I will not go into it here. The model went together well, but the fit is not always good. Be aware that a green dot on a tab means that you glue that tab on that side. This is important to get the eaves correct, and not clear in the otherwise good instructions. The last picture illustrates this point.

In this group of photos you can see my essential tool kit for building castles, and what some of the parts look like. A heavy weight helps to keep the structure aligned. However, to get a truly square and level castle would require some serious paper re-engineering. It also shows that the inside edge of some of the eaves need to be colored.

The castle took roughly three days to build over the Christmas holidays. These pictures show the work in progress. The sequence is to build the foundation, and then add levels until you get to the top. There is a black base that I chose not to build, for a more natural look.

Here you can see the last steps, and the finished castle. One mistake I made was to glue the top roof to the top level before I glued the level to the castle. This made it very hard to get the roof straight and level.
