Orlik Heinkel "Lerche" 1:33

Hello Friends,

Oddly enough, even though I am an Aircraft Engineer I seldom buy Aviation models. However, this one really caught my eye. Here is a Wikipedia article on the subject.

A lasercut frame set is available from Orlik here

Regards,

Cris

Edit: I apologize friends and administrators, despite my best efforts to remove illegal symbols, one slipped past me. I have corrected that. Thank you moderators.

Hi Cris,

that "Thing" looks very very interesting. Are you going to build the "Lerche" in the near Future?
I hope for a great "Baubericht" ;) .

Kind regards,

J.R.

I've got the model today and it is very interesting. Although it is a rather simple model, it has a nice detailing.

Due to the fact that I've already built the version from derKampfflieger (report & gallery), it will be nice to compare the two versions. The canopy will be pretty tough!

Hello Friends,

I've updated the first post to show the available Lasercut set direct from Orlik.

@ JR: I wish I could start it sometime soon, but my mat is still full of Hafen.

@ rutzes; Thank you posting links to your other build. I agree, the model is fairly simple but I think the duct will surely add some complexity and interest. Yes, I too have been wondering how to accomplish the canopy without ugly seams. Do you think some of the new thermosetting plastics would have enough "give" if placed over a form? The cone shape has a rather tight radius.

Regards,

Cris
