I must say, until now i never build so inaccurate paper model, bottom plating was deadly bad, mby was draw with some drunk one. After that putting was necessary. Many parts r wrong numbered, and some completly missing, building is realy brain teaser.

Hello Sky,
you are absolutely right. I remember at least one other builder who didn´t finidh the model due to problems when fitting.
And if I am not mistaken docrox has managed to finish it, but he needed to rework the hull. There shoul be pictures of the finished model on this site and perhaps you could ask docrox for some hints.Zaphod

Hallo, Sky.
I've just had a look at your Bismarck and Graf Spee models
They are GREAT!!!
And your Nagato looks so cool.
I wish you a lot of fun with the new member of your fleet.
Keep up like this!
Good luck!

Dobri Den Sky,
your Nagato is very impressiv in my opinion; I still have to build her, and so I´m looking forward to your experience with this model with great interest!
Hope to see more soonHave a great day

Hi Sky,
fantastic build.
You managed to fix the hull perfect.
I remember, when I built the Nagato, about 7 years ago, my experience was less and I faced quite a lot of problems in attaching the parts of the hull. I tried to hide my faults with the extensiv use of colour.Nevertheless its an impressive ship, exspecially the pagode-conningtower.
Keep on
Greetings

thx 2 all i m trying my best with this model, its t easy (i ve writen above about problems), bcs model edition is very old and no reediting or something like this until know, it is very very big handicap against good GPM or Halinsky models. And other way, is not much paperJaps BBs (i know only 2 (Nagato and Yamato), and Nagato for sure cost for hard work, and brain teasing:)) but good skill and inventiveness is necessary.
-
Successfuly steps to finish:))
-
i hate finishing small things onboard:)
-
can somebody help with pics of front of Nagato (or Mutsu), details of anchorage mechanism, laying anchor chain, etc? Nothing about it in instructions, and no photos in my japs bbs colection.
-
Hi SKY,
I`ve got a 1:200 plan of the Kirishima, it`s very detailed. Ancor mechanisms and tackling should be simililar to that of the Nagato.
If you like, I can copy interesting parts of the ship.Greetings

Beautiful Job, Sky.
I like your Nagato more than your Bismarck!
=D> -

Starting with "wires"
-
continue with wires:), i m trying to build real wiring, but japs looks crazy .... to many of them, cant imagine mischief after each battle or aa fire support :))
-
Hy SKY,
well done!

Hi SKY,
if you plan to use all the rigging, which is detailed in the plan, take care: there are some wires which only were used as supports for sunshades. These are mostly those wires, which run, more or less, parallel to the main deck; this also happens with the "tripods".
Have a nice sunday
Hans Gerd
-
yeah i know about sunshades wires, thats not in my plan:))
-
Finished :yahoo:
-
Huh, there are really many wires . Looks great =D> .
