Hello Friends,
Well, I had intended to begin construction on JSC's 1:400 Bredford Dolphin and incorporate it into a diorama with the Willift Eagle. But then on the first day of BHV, I found the 1:250 reprint version of the Bredford Dolphin which of course led to more even better diorama ideas...And THEN on the last day of BHV, the beautiful Maria S. Merian was handed to me direct from the Master's Hands. I am suddenly rich!
So, in order to give my poor brain a rest and let it simmer on some ideas, I have started construction on the MT Elbe , a Schlepper with a long and active history.
The Elbe was built and launched in 1959 in the Netherlands. After a long career including TWO sinkings, she is being returned to her original specifications and colors. More info and pictures here and here.
The Elbe will be a little unusual for me in that I will build the underwater hull, it is a simple project, and the fact that she is in 1:200 scale. All images copyright.
Best Regards,
Cris
