Michael Johnson Paper Planes 2

At the auction house I got curious. A Book of considerable size was offered containing aircraft called "Paper Planes 2", published in 1991

There must have been a Part 1. In the introduction its contents are described: Pioneering plane by Robert Blackburn,1911,an earlyn Morane-Saulnier monoplane, twoi Fokker fighters, an italian seaplane, the Lindbergh Ryan, 1926, a Rhönadlerglider(ever flown, Jan?,), a small AVRO monoplaner and the Hawker Hart biplane.
What a pity I don't have these ;(

Alles getestet vom Autor selbst.
And shure, he is an artist. The finest and most delicate air-brush technique is presented here. Set in stone in Italy, the best you can get.
The models can be motorized with Knight and Pridham engines, weighing 26 grams. The jet-engined models are to be built as glider models. All of them tested by the author himself.

The models were given a light, realistic weathering. I suppose the author did not suffer from a cold when creating these masterpieces, as this might have endangered his work instantly

Die dargebotene Flugzeuge mit Spannweite, Maßstab und Seiten:
The models with their wingspan, Scale, and pages:

Gloster Gladiator, 54 cm, 1:18, 9 S.
Hawker Hurricane in Silberkleid, 50 cm, 1:24, 4,5 S.
Mitsubishi Zero. 62 cm, 1:17, 6 S.
Messerschmitt 109E Rote 4, 64 cm, 1:15, 5 S.
Fairey Barracuda, 64 cm, 1:23, 5 S.
B - 52 in Tarnanstrich, 92 cm, 1:61, 7 S.
U - 2R in Silber, 64 cm, 1:50, 2+ S.
B - 2 Stealth, 122 cm, 1:43, 10 S.

3 Pages with general instructions, also to get the planes airborne.
17 Pages with historical notes on the planes, lavishly illustrated.
13 Pages with artwork on the models together with exploded views

Beautiful!

Exquisite air-brush painting - you are a lucky man, SKT! And the scales, and sizes - many of them in reasonable 1:24 - 1:15, ideal for paper modelling.

Those interested in Knight & Pridham electric motors should look here.

And - just to prove I studied your photos - the caption says the two-seater Hurricane has Persian markings...

Gert-San,

I have been in remote area of Vietnam for more than one month where internet access is terrible.
Today, after a long time, I browse kartonbau.de and found out this.
I do not know about this sign of Zero but I will post this picture on my Japanese blog so that some Japanese Zero nut might give me answer.
If I get it I will tell you.

BTW, I can't back to home during new year holidays and to my sorrow my wife said merrily "You don't need to come back to home in a hurry" :(

I wish you a Happy New Year.

4. Finally, Yu-San, could you please tell us from which origin this sign is on the Zero?

I happened to come across this marking today.
The sign on the plane shown in below sites resembles to the sign you posted.

http://www1.odn.ne.jp/mappiragomen/hobby/tojo1/tojo1.htm
http://www.kanto-match.co.jp/200705.html

The signs shown in those sites were painted on the planes of 246th Flight Regiment 3rd Squadron
According to the explanation, they said Kamikaze suicide squads are allowed to paint whatever design and letter they want.
And 246th Flight Regiment is well known for flamboyant coloring.
