So I´m starting with my big project - it will be scratch build (I´m going to use some parts of the U´dons LM as the ground ) I´m not sure which one it will be ,but I have two candidates - LM 8 (Antares from apollo 12 ) or LM 12 (Challenger from Apollo 17 )
I´m absolutely not sure when , or if I will be able to complete the model because I´m going to move (2x) and change my job :-D

Hi Wedge,
your idea looks great.Michael

The material is used from the barbecue saucer ( I dont know the right word ) When I saw this material , it was the impulse for the whole idea to build the LM

Hi Wedge,
incredible good looking ... :super:
This LEM will be another masterpiece of you.Best regards, Woody

I like it, but: Aren`t there too many and too large rivets?
As far as I know only the additional black heatcovers were attached with a sort of rivets, the other plates are more or less smooth.
Here are some closeup pictures of the real thing to show what I mean:

This isn´t the final arrangement , I´m going to put the thin coat right on the metal plate , so the the purpose of the rivets is only for the feeling of roundless You won´t see them

So ... I have completed my Moldy Crow ( nobody noticed ) , so I can go back to my LM scratchbuild. There is newest photo , so as you can see LM is not dead yet

Hi wedge (German: Der Keil) :D,
What do you mean with "nobody noticed" ?

So ... I have completed my Moldy Crow ( nobody noticed ) , so I can go back to my LM scratchbuild. There is newest photo , so as you can see LM is not dead yet.I notice your scratchbuild from the beginning and I'am glad to see it growing.
I have some questions:
- For which purpose you have applied the masking tape ?
- Are you brushing the gaps ?I'am surprised about the drawings you have available. Have you any source for us or are you a NASA employee ?
My Very Best Regards

Hello René , thank you for such a kind words , but I am dissatisfied with my results , so I´m building it again and different way.
ad 1. There was no good reason... it was only wrong attempt , the step aside
ad 2. My source is one guy from america... he is building the most excelent model I have ever seen and he is my great inspiration... you can see it yourself there :

hello wedge,
glad to see your next attempt here, as your first one already looked quite promising !!! As for the references, the ultimate source are David Week's drawings, I guess nearly no serious attempt of scratch building a LEM model was done without them ...
best greetings

[Blocked Image: http://www.papirove-modely.cz/…1102193726-54964-full.jpg]Hello Cyana , thank you for such a kind words. About the drawings - I don´t have them , but I have the blueprints from this site ( my greatest inspiration !!! )

Hello wedge,
thank you for passing on this fantastic link - these blueprints are outstanding ! Do you maybe know which scale they are ? I see the figures but it is hard to tell what units are given.
Hope to see more from your LEM soon !
best greetings

Hey cyana,

for cyana : Gerald is absolutely right :]
there is another side with its "bones" . A little hole on the left side is prepared for the green docking light ( I´m not sure if I want it shine yet )
