Let C-11 / Jak-11, new project

Hi dears,
I have started my new project which should be Czech trainer/fighter Let C-11, which was build as licence of Jak-11 in Czech factory Let Kunovice. This model should be finally in scale 1/33 with possibility to build model in colours of Czechoslovak air force, Polish air force, GDR/DDR air force, Hungarian air force, Russian air force and Austrian air force.
In this moment I have model without interior, but final model will include interior as well as other details. I still think if there will be engine inside, so I will have to think about this. Below are some pics from my build of this model in scale 1/50 in Czechoslovak air force livery.

Hi dears. I have now started to build this model in 1/33 scale and below are some pics. I have also added easy engine , but it does not have to be used. Final model is without any marking and this will be added as xtra page where you can decide between, CZ, AT, HU, BG, GDR, PL, RU and Egyptian air force where this plane was in service. I hope you will like my progress. There are still some things to repair on this model and this will be done within few weeks. Unfortunatelly I'm not able to make more photos during build, but I will try to slow down :-)

another update is half wing with extracted flaps and ailerons. This is most difficult part of the model because of the shapes and cuted parts.

Hallo gagostini,

Bernd

Hello gagostini,

that's a very interesting project, what you show here. I'll be watching it on.
Are you constructing the model by yourself?
Can you tell me briefly how you built the canopoy? It looks like you've glued several overlapping segments?
Thanks for your report!

Bernd

Dear Bernd,

canopy construction is quite easy, but hard to explain for me even in english. You have to make negative form first with frame parts inside and then you make positive form. After this you have prepared form with frame parts and you make canopy like mine. I hope you can understand how I mean this. With next canopy, I can try to make some pics to explain how it works.
Anyway, I have another update with finished wings connected with fuselage and there is only undercarriage missing to finish first build. After this I will make some correction and handover this plane to another test :-)

yes, that is one the things, that will be changed. It is not visible on the final model anyway, so I'm thinking to leave it out or put there only wire instead of paper piece.... Whole engine will be moved forward , but it will stay as much simple as possible. Who would like to have more details, will have possibility to upgrade :-)

Hi gagostini,

Viele Grüße

Bernd

Hi gagostini,

thanks for the photos. I can only confirm to everyone that your models look great! I admired both prototypes last weekend in Neratovice.

When will come the GDR version?

And where the last two photos were taken? Do you have a C-11 in the garage? ;)

Best regards

Bernd

Dear Bernd,

I'm really sorry that we have not met in Neratovice last weekend. I was there almost whole Saturday. Anyway, I don't have my own C-11, but I was invited by owners of this plane to make some more pics and also to try how is the feel of the pilot in this plane. Unfortunatelly in this moment is this plane without engine, but there are plans how to get another one from Russia to make this plane flyable again. I'm planning another visit in January or February next year to make some more pics and also pics of another plane that they have available (C-4/Bü 131). Pics are made in hangar in Prague.
German verion will be available with Czech one as all marking will be available on separate sheet and should be ready for distribution hopefully next week.
