Hawker Typhon Mk I B - Maly Modelarz

Hi,
let me introduce to you my newly built plane - Hawker Typhoon from the old kit of Maly Modelarz. When I started this project I didn't know about new Typhoon from Gomix - which is actually strongly rebuilded project from MM with a lot of nice adds (please see my description of this kit here).
Kit from MM is still very good, hovever it paper is very bad. I did a lot of changes and adds - made a whatering which is controversional to some. Canopy is from Gomix; I varnished it twice - with some matt varnish and then with acrylic varnish - it was due to my watching pictures of a real plane. thank you for copmliments. Jan - this plane is my favourite also - but I strongly recommend to built it from new kit of Gomix - many things are resolved much better (it's hard to explain it due to my poor language).

Leif - if I understood you well: first I varnished carton before gluing it with this matt varnish (spray):

(very nice deep colours, matt surface, hardened paper)

- and then with acrylic varnish used normaly to painting wood - little watered (much more water makes it less shining) like this:

Some pepole use other complicated method: they combine two Humbrol varnishes (important! those from glass container, as it do not get yellow) - first gloss (even two times) and then watered matt. Quite expensive method. Please see my Mig 29 - there you can find effects of using much more watered (less shining due to my expectations) acrylic varnish on matt base.
