Hello René,

Of course, Bremerhaven is the center of the universe, at least this weekend! A little inside joke on my part. COMAT, COmpany MATerials a sticker we place on cargo to differentiate aircraft parts from customer goods. I needed a box to put the Hafen in so...

It will be a direct 5 hour drive :) But the weather is so beautiful! I am very much looking forward to seeing you again and meeting so many others!

Excited Regards,

Cris

Hi Friends,

Well! After a SHORT baupause, I am here to finish things up. First though, I want to show you two of my most prized treasures that I found in a trinket shop in Hamburg. These are enamel pins of the Argos and Norddeutscher Lloyd house flags that the SCHWAN is so proudly flying.

Of course they are not nearly as dear as the memories I brought back from BHV. Mia and I are already discussing next years event and making plans to spend more time in Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven.

Best Regards,

Cris

Hello Friends,

And to finish the Hafen, I have finally made and added the Möwen. I am sad this project is over ;( But on to bigger things!

Thank You Friends and Guests for reading along.

Sincerely,

Cris

So it wasn't finished up to now? You showed us that thing in BHV, and it wasn't even finished?? What a fraud! Shame on you, Chris! I would NEVER display anything without having finished it!
And: When will you finally stop your humiliating completion? ;) ;) ;)

Seriously: What a lovely reunion with your terrific work!

Hello Cris,

I am glad that I found this little diorama project of yours. It has been a delight to go through all four pages of it just to see what you have accomplished. It is, of course, quite the grand project and shows off your talents in card modeling, planning, and execution of a rather complex scene, what a delight. Congratulations on a masterful job.

Hello Friends,

I can not thank all of you enough for your kind words and praise! I deeply appreciate every comment and wish to express my deepest gratitude. My humble work work has been so well received by everyone, I am just speachless. With out sounding like I am bragging or proud which I most certainly am not, I just noticed yesterday at the Hobby-Modell-Speil Messe, the latest posters advertising the 25.internationales Karton-Modellbau-Treffen in Bremerhaven vom 26.4.-28.4.2013 have a picture of my hafen!!

Well to me, this is mind boggling to say the least! I think I blushed from embarrassment when I saw it! I am very lucky to belong to such a wonderful community of modelers and friends!

I think next I will finish up my small project, an Excavator and then move on to a 1970's diorama with the SLOMAN ALSTERTOR. I think I will defer the BREDFORD DOLPHIN diorama with the DAY TIDE for now. I may need a larger craft table! The 1:250 version is rather huge :)

At the Hobby-Modell-Speil, Benjamin and Ulrike were kind enough to display my model alongside so many many other master works like the BREMEN and the EVG. Here then is one last picture.

Friends, thank you all again!

Cris

Hi Heiner!

You are too kind Sir! By my last calculation, the combined efforts of the forum members have exceeded the man hours expended in putting man on the moon :) My contribution is very small. BUT, that did not stop me from immediately begging for a poster of my very own from Stephan!

Gratefully,

Cris

PS Just in case you thought things go wonderfully for me at all times (they DO NOT!) I am on my second cutting of the boom for the excavator, the lattice is so fine! :cursing:

Hallo Chris,

I know EXACTLY what you mean! The figures are 1:220 or Z Maßstab from Preiser. Unpainted, about 16 Euro for 100.

If you look back though the thread, I believe I have a link and talk about the painting.

Thank you for your kind words but I admire your work as well!

Best Regards,

Cris

Hallo Chris, Hallo Ully

Thank you. This is the idea!!! Ich denke der Größenunterschied zwischen den Figuren 1:220 und 1:250 dürfte kaum auffallen; aber Leute mit Bauch sehen dann doch etwas besser aus. :D Ich habe wieder etwas dazugelernt :whistling:

Hello Günter,

Thank you so very much for your kind words! It was so much fun to build.

Here is the thread where I posted the pictures we took when we visited the Hafenmuseum last month.

It was really somewhat spiritual :) to see and touch some of the things I studied so hard in pictures and research.

Kind Regards,

Cris
