Fokker Dr 1 "kartonowy Swiat" 1:50. ( finished)

Dear Friends!

It's a great pleasure and honour for me to present to You my first construction report on Kartonbau!

I will show You my work on the Fokker Dr 1 in scale 1:50.

It is Marek Pacynski design.

Model presents plane flown by famous airman Ltn. Friedrih Kempf:

http://www.fokkerdr1.com/Dr1_213_17_kempf.jpg

First steps - fuselage. It's simple cardboard box ;)

I hope - You will enjoy my work. :S
Kind regards to you all!

Is this the one with the letters "kennscht mi no?" on the upper wing?I guess it was kempfs plane,he had a good sense of humor!

Hello Mariusz,

you've done fine work. Which material do you use for cockpit edge?

On the cockpit edge I've used insulator from the electric wire. Maybe it's a little too thick, but I can't find the right one... ;(
Kind regards to you all!

I don't think so. It fits perfekt and look very good to me. The edge looks naturally.

Hi Marius,

Really nice to see your work. I do not think the cockpit combing looks out of place either, the color you choose suits very well!

Best Regards,

Middle wing:

As You can see, I've put the bamboo stick ( used usually for shashlik's ;) )next to original girder of the wing.

And I"ve did it with each one wing in this model.

Bamboo stick is very resistant and light, so I think it is suitable for that task.

BTW:

Happy Easter! :D
Kind regards to you all!

Hey Mariusz,

nice to see your first "Baubericht" on kartonbau.de ! You have choosen a very cool little bird with the Fokker. I only wondered about the sice with 1:50. I thought, that you only build in 1:33 scale. But anyway this is going to be a very nice model and i am

happy, that i can follow your little "tricks" ( like the bamboo-stick at example ). The most difficult thing on the Dreidecker must be the Cowling with its round form, or not?

Regards

J.R.

My favourite : planes in 1:33 and 1:50 and vechicles 1:25.

Round shape of cowling... Man can do it! ;) :D

Hi Mariusz! :)

Very appealing work so far!

"Man" would consider himself blessed if fitted with your skills. Especially when it´s a rather small object (like the Fokker) in an even smaller scale than usual. It will be of great interest for me to see the differences evolve as I usually prefer the larger scales.

Kind regards
Bernhard

Yes.

Wheels made from parts of original paper cut-out.

Completely hand-made ;)

Repeatedly grinded and painted- in the beginning with nitrocellulose varnish, and then with black, matt paint ( Model Master).

Ardous hand work ;)
Kind regards to you all!

And the engine case glued together:

The cardboard strips of "round" fragment of case were smooth pressed on the rubber before glueing. Then painted together with nitrocellulose varnish.

Thank You, Friends for Yours good words.
Next steps:

The engine - in the cardboard tehere is a very simple, but also primitive version. I'd like to "enrich" it. So I've made the "fuel pipes" ( I cand find the right word... ?( ).
I've made only 4 of them...
Why? Because of my mistake - I've made completely cowling BEFORE positioning inside the ready engine...And because of that the engine is not moveable as it should...I've must cut-out the tips of 3-4 cyllinders to put the engine inside...
Sorry... :cursing:

And the forgotten view from below:
Kind regards to you all!
