[Fertig] Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" - Maly Modelarz 3/2002 - 1:33

Here are some pictures of a Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" that I have been working on for a few months now. So far I am please with the kit. It has good fit and good detail. I added a few extra details to the cockpit with glue and paint. I used paperclips for the push-rods in the engine.

RE: Maly Modelarz Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" 3/2002

Is there anyway I can add more than one picture in each post? I am not quite sure how to do that. I don't think I am allowed to have more than two posts in a row.

Hallo :)

Hej das sieht aber guuut aus. Gute, saubere Arbeit.

Robert

That looks very good. Good and clean work. Also the plane looks good. I will follow up on your thread and discuss the modell. Do you plan to finish the model at the end? If so, with what sort of preservation finish?

Thank you for the compliments Robert. Yes, I do plan to finish building the plane. However, I have never used any kind of spray or varnish to preserve my models yet. Do you have any recomendations? If I did use a varnish for protection I would prefer something that isn't too glossy.

Robert

RE: Maly Modelarz Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" 3/2002

I finished up this plane a few weeks ago and i finally had time to take pics and post them. I couldn't decide whether or not to close the canopy so I didn't glue a few pieces so that I can display it opened OR closed.
Here it goes.....

These are all the pieces of the canopy without reinforement. I simply heated them with a blow dryer and worked them into shape.

RE: Maly Modelarz Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" 3/2002

I used wire from a bread tie to reinforce the pieces that weren't glued to the fuselage, to help them hold there shape.

This is the glue I used to glue the wire to the front of the canopy pieces that slide back and forth for opening and closing.

Every picture after this shows the plane 99.9% done. After I glue the last few pieces I'll post final pics in the gallery section.
