[Fertig / done] Maly-Modelarz Mig-29 CZAF Alfa build 1:33

Hi Guys, Happy Easter!

Gruss aus Prag. Since my Deutsch is very poor I will give my report in English (it is also not the best but lets give it a try).
It happened I got extra free days and when I saw Gunni's build I decided to start ALFA test build of MiG-29 from Maly Modelarz.
In the case you will notice some differences you are not wrong :P

Lets start with the front fuselage section and "simplified" cockpit

Vasek,

congratulation to this clean build! As flyschorni pointed out before, the color scheme is great - highly realistic coloring.

There is not much left to be done, speaking about the airframe. I don't know if you will add all the missiles and whatever is left from the original edition.

BTW, which edition was the original you did recolor? The last one from 2006 or an earlier one?

Hi Robert
Thanks for your nice words. Regardless I must admit that my work is anything else than a clean build. I am not very good modeler - some of local guys really are. To my knowledge I do use too much glue and even my cuttings are not the best.
Anyway I hope that target of this build will be achieved even with my poor modeler skill.

Hi Michael
Thanks for compliments :rotwerd:
The original Czech Air Force camo from the end of 80ties is very nice. Combination of two green and brown are amazing to my opinion. The final defend camo is dark as the landscape in the middle Europe. Shown airplane is from former 11 plm, of Zatec air base (Tiger Squadron).
This airplane was extensively used and its colors were destroyed by aggressive weather conditions (especially aging from sun). At the time when was this plane sold to Poland the coloring was actually in very bad condition. I tried to simulate the color aging in Photoshop.

I hope U like it. Compare this camo to others available (SK, NVA, Luftwaffe, VVS RF) it is one of my favorites.

Hi Rutz
I am using as much original parts as possible. Regardless I will modify weapon scheme. MiG-29 can show more than MM offers :D

For recoloring
It is not just like that. I bought the latest 2006 version (not only =)).
I like the paper model, especially airplanes. I have around 250 titles among my collection from all around world but most of production comes from Poland. I like the way polish are making models - it is very close to my own design (when I was creating models).

There is one problem with them - what is not wearing red-white chessboard is very rare. I could grow very old man since MM will release Czech, Slovak, East nor Luftwaffe German or Iraq MiG-29 (most likelly we can expect Polish or Russian camos).

When I saw work of Roman Staszalek (author of this issue) I know that it is what I was waiting for. I fully redraw the model back in vector using Adobe Illustrator and made first beta coloring in Photoshop.

Beta test build was made by my friend “Sasko" from Slovakia and based on his experience and general shape I decided to make constructional modifications and variety of camos.

The original threat about the project is only in Czech but there is a lot of pictures and general info http://papirovemodelarstvi.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3044

I am looking forward to your build man.
This model is simple to build - I already spend 8 hours on it.
