F-15 Technician's Ladder

Dear All,

So far, I've been just a GUEST here and enjoyed your fantastic works!
Now, I want to share my work with you.

What I'm showing today is the F-15 Technician's Ladder.
I finished my F-15 [Halinski] and wanted to add a ladder to it.

Followings are pictures that I've used as reference;

little calculation

Assuming the knee height (man in left picture) is 50 cm,
calculated sizes... and made temporal 'fake' ladder...

Rolling...

Based on the simple calculation above,
I needed paper (round) bars;
- 1.6 mm (for sides)
- 1.4 mm (for steps)
- 1.1 mm (for support)

Used plain paper

Welcome to the group!

Very nice work how you made the ladder for the F-15. For those how are less skilled, there is a free paper model of a ladder for the F-15 on Moshe's page under:

http://www.papermodels.co.il/

Go to free downloads, and look for the PDF file for the ladder. It comes in 1/32 to match with their F-15 model, but that should not stop you to adjust the scale...

Best,

Matthias

Hi Owen,
simple answer: You can't. But which one you want to have deleted?

Nice work you show us here. Can you explain how you make the paper rolls? Ordinary office paper on a wire? Or how is it done?

Regards
Jan

Rolls

Jan,

I used plain paper which is used for copier.

it's very easy.

1. for 1.6 mm paper rolls, I started with 2 cm paper strip.
2. roughly roll the paper strip using any round thing. toothpick for example.
3. once it is roughly rolled, then remove the round thing.
4. keep rolling with your hand till it is tightly rolled.
5. when it is tight enough, fix it using super glue.
6. coat the paper roll with super glue.
7. sand it using fine sand paper (I used 1500).

I'm sorry that I didn't take picture for the procedure.
I'll post it next time.

by the way, I notice the Golden Gate Bridge in your picture.
I live quite close to the bridge (30 min driving).

Please let me know when you come here again next time.

Owen,
your right. That was back in January. But I think it will be a long time till I visit the west coast again. It was a business trip.
Thanks for the instructions, thats how I would have done it.

Cheers
Jan
