Fryslan Boppe!
April).
"Friesland First!", that's what they say in the only bilangual province of the Netherlands. The people of the museum "Willem van Haren" took this very seriously. The title of Museum does not cover all activities of the foundation, there is also a creative centre where people are having courses in various art disciplines, there is an exhibition room and a small restaurant.
The exhibition was based on the collection of publisher Leon Schuijt with additional objects taken from private collections.
Interesting was the lay-out of the exhibition: Walls made out of brown packaging cardboard in which diorama boxes where created.
During the exhibition workshops took place for children, also a lecture was given upon the theme "The History of Cardboardmodeling". During the exhibition cardboard models were sold in the museumshop.
I will ask the museumboard if there will be cardboardmodel exhibitions in the future. The next exhibition was already anounced: "Two Centennials of Circus in the Netherlands" (March 11 - April 23).
