Hello Friends! Here is the S-64 Sky Crane by Fiddlers Green. A very simple model with no more than 30 pieces, I will add many scratch built details.
-
Thomas,
Happy New Year and congratulations on fine ship!
Regards,
Cris

Wolfgang,
Happy New Year! Looking at your work so far, one would think you are building the GDANSK out of 5cm thick steel instead of paper. The lack of any distortion is extraordinary! Masterful work.

Hello Friends,
After a short break, I am back among old friends. Since we last spoke, we have moved from Leipzig DE to Atlanta GA and again once more within Atlanta to our dream home. We are now the proud owners of our very own kleiner Hafen where we like to fish. I have missed you all greatly and am happy to be building a ship once again!
Best regards,
Cris

Ulrich,

Hello Friends,
The rail and buffer stops are installed.
Kind regards,
Cris
Helmut: Thanks and sorry about the pictures. Really no problem, Cris. Helmut.

Hello Friends,
The 700 or so sleepers are in place and the ballast has been installed. Also, the platforms have been constructed.
Kind Regards,
Cris
Thomas: Thank you very much for your kind words and especially the great links! Although I doubt very much my little diorama will be so grand.
Ully: Hi Ully! You are absolutely correct about the driving. However I used the below image as my reference. I have also attached another two that show as you say, chaos and anarchy
EDIT: Pictures removed while I research sources...
EDIT2: Here is a link to the reference picture I used. -
Hello Friends,
Thank all of you very much for your kind words and praise! I am taking a break from the front of the station. Here, I have laid out the tracks and platforms and begun placing the sleepers. Yes, it looks rough at the moment but by the time ballast is placed, the tracks are glued to the diorama base and the entire thing painted, maybe it will not look so bad.
Kind Regards,
Cris
Thomas: Thanks! The Yaks say hello! I am not sure how to deal with the figures yet...I know I will need a lot.
@ Peter: Thank you! I knew I was keeping that Meter Maßstab for something!
Helmut: Thanks! -
Hello Friends,
Having helped on the Translations, I am very happy to see the new site up! I wish Ben and Uli many happy sales and of course, the rest of you many happy models!

Hi Tino,
I have followed your fantastic report since you started, just wonderful work! And an informative report! Can you share with us one more photo of a person beside the model? I laughed at the ladder in one of your other photos!
Best Regards,
Cris

Hello,
I have added a news stand, some luggage at the baggage entrance and placed the "fleet".
Regards,
Cris
Wolfgang: Thank you for your kind words. Its hardly "amazing", but I'm glad that someone is enjoying this report.

Hallo Friends,
Here are some pictures of the ARKONA and BALTIC along with several other Governmental ships on our Flickr Page

Hi Jens,
Outstanding work! Just beautiful!
I read recently where HMV has just completed the LC for this ship at over 2000 parts alone!

Cris

Hi Helmut,
I really like the way you handled the masts. That is how I would have done it. Oh, well I guess that's not the best endorsement then I genuinely enjoy seeing problems solved in unique ways.
Bravo!

Hello Friends,
The horse drawn cabs are complete. So, in the first image you can see my first attempt at a horse more closely resembled an overweight yak. The second attempt looks a little better, perhaps the off-spring of a yak and a donkey. C'est la vie!
I do not mind telling you hitching the horses up and putting the reins on was mildly infuriating.
Regards,
Cris

Hi Feite,
It is always a pleasure to see what interesting details you add to your models.
Kind Regards,
Cris

And the rest:
I really apologize for the quality, but still maybe a fanatic or two like me will enjoy them.

Hello Friends,
Here is the link to our Flicker page with this years photos of the OCEANIC.
Also, here are some really terrible shots of the PACIFIC model in the window of Bugsier in Hamburg.
Lastly, please visit BUGSIER for a nice downloadable PDF of the particulars of the OCEANIC and indeed all of their fleet.
Kind Regards,
Mia and Cris

Good Day Friends,
Here is some progress on the scratch built horse drawn carriages. The actual horses are reduced almost 50% from the Micromodels TR1 set.

Hello Friends,

Hello Kurt!
Printers are mean, tricky, sneaky, bastards. Make sure in the print dialog there is no option hidden away somewhere to "resize to fit sheet" or "scale to fit sheet" Also, what format is your scan saved in?
I am sure we can work this out.
Regards to you and your Wife,
Cris

Hello Paul,
Absolutely fantastic work! Thank you for taking the time to share them with us. In the late 1980's when I was in the US Navy, we called these aircraft Hoovers due to the distinctive sound the ducted fans made. Hoover is a manufacturer of vacuums in the US.
The Viking was also very much loved by the maintenance guys due to the large number of innovations Lockheed build into the airframe.
Best Regards,
Cris

Hello Friends,
Here is the progress on two taxi's, and a private car. These are "special" Austin-Mecededes models Ok, Ok. Really they are the Mercedes from the HMV Deichstrasse that are supposed to be Austins
In the first picture you can see the bodies for two horse drawn cabs which I am scratch building.
Kind Regards,
Cris
Zaphod: Thank you! PM me if you would like.
@Hajo: Thank you! They do look a bit like chitty-chity-bang-bang Mia says Hallo!
-
Hi Fred,
What a great project! Part of the charm of the Micromodels (to me) is their dodgy artwork. It goes perfectly with my dodgy construction
Looking forward to seeing the completion!
Best Regards,
Cris

Hello Friends,
Here is the link to Mia's Flickr page with photo's of the Ex MS DRESDEN. What a wonderful Museumschiff, well worth a trip to Rostock and certainly of interest to any MDK Verlag modelers.

Hi Pianisto!
We really had a great time exploring the museum and the BLIECHEN. I hope that other modelers will benefit from these photos and we will see lots of hafen dioramas.
It was very nice to meet you and talk for a bit at BHV.
Thank you and Regards,
Mia and Cris
