1. Starting today, a new model is available in the JSC store. It is the auxiliary cruiser or passenger–cargo ship Jervis Bay (JSC 424), scale 1:400. The model can be built in two versions and includes a laser-cut waterline and deck supports.

Third and final part of the the SS United States model build has just gone live. In this episode, we focused on the ship's funnels. This is one of the most distinctive elements of the ship, which is why we dedicated a significant part of the video to it. The design of the funnels makes them very easy to assemble, even though they appear complex. However, if something goes wrong, the spare parts in the kit provide funnel skins for both of them, because we want you to be happy with the results!

And now 3 fun facts about the SS United States:

- during its 17 years of service at sea, the ship completed exactly 400 voyages.

- voyage 188 - October 1960, $40,000 was stolen from the safe where employees’ wages were kept. It wasn't until February 1961 that it was revealed that a bellboy had stolen the money and buried it in a park. Unfortunately, most of the banknotes were destroyed by rain and snow. The bellboy was arrested.

- voyage 331 - November 1966, a travel ban was issued for the first time against a particular passenger (Mrs. X). She complained about her accommodation, saying there wasn’t enough space for her luggage, and claimed that the bell and air conditioning didn’t work - though everything was functioning perfectly. She also complained about the unfriendly crew and the fact that some of them were coloured. She even complained about the other passengers. The United States Lines decided to ban her from traveling on the ship again, and all officers were informed of this decision.

Today on YouTube, we’ve got an episode all about the hull sides for the SS United States. The technique we’re showing can come in handy for other passenger ships - and even warships too.

Polish cruiser DRAGON (JSC 306), scale 1:400.

Cruiser of “D” class. She spent first half of the II WW in tropic waters. In 1943 transferred to Polish Navy. She took a part in Normandy landings, where she was hit by a torpedo. Committed as a lost she was scuttled as a part of breakwater in “Gooseberry” artificial harbour. The kit contains a number of optional parts which improve the model's final appearance.

The kit contains lasercut hull framework. Additionally, you can buy laser cut details 013-L (this set contains latticeworks, parts of life boats, floats, ladders, anchors etc.)

The model has a QR code printed on the instruction sheets, which allows you to watch the Dragon build video. How to watch the video?

Gun barrels for 20 sets British-built warships, scale 1:400 are now available in JSC shop.

They are made out of grey resin. The barrels might need some minor cleaning and have to be painted.
