Hi Cris,

I'd vote for the version WITH background, it makes the Kipper look more integrated.
And the discrepancy between the black-and-white background and the colorful diorama is quite appealing.

Great work, by the way!

Cheers .... Wolfgang

Hi Cris,

very wonderful work so far.
You've created a great model! Hard to believe that some images you ' ve shown are from your model. The water seems to be from Hamburg harbour... ;)
For me the Kohlenkipper is the eyecatcher with it's aged structure and a lot of fine details.
If I were you, I would take the diorama with that background. The scenery will be more dynamic.

Good luck with finishing your diorama!

Best regards.

Peter

Hello Friends,

Thank you for your kind words and input. I had originally intended to use the backdrop but as construction neared completion, I liked the look without the backdrop :S But, as you can see below the backdrop brings everything together and added context to the scene. Many thanks to Lars for assisting me with the Sora cover! Which may seem a bit pretentious for such a modest diorama but I hope we can travel to Bremerhaven and see all of you.

Thanks again friends for reading along.

Sincerly,

Cris

Hi Chris,

You show us a first class diorama. Perfectly built and it shows all what a good diorama takes. The connection of the threedimensional diorama and the background is a very good idea.

A big hand ( no: a big lot of hands) and congratulationes.

With best regards

Ulrich

Hallo Hi-Torque...
