Hi all, this is going to by my Jeep which based on version used in Mai 1944 in UK to mistify german Luftwafe when focussing on power concentration for the planned invasion. Jeep was covered with tent painted as Sherman tank.

actual situation of build is in wheel construction. Used patina coat of acvarel colours and chalk dust
full size and more pictures on
-
Korvette, patina is made with acvarel colours
- have to mix eg khaki and dark brown and little bit orange, red and apply on area to be such done.
- have to use different volume of water in the colour to make different colour crossing
- have to apply chalk dust with brush - best on wet colours and with repeating to influence intensity of dust
- have to apply dry brush with brown-red for very intensive corosion area
- chalk dust preparation: mill different coloured chalks and mix them to get the dust you want - this which I applied is mix of yellow and white with a little bit brown
hope that this is enough -

Jeep "whisky in the jar" - chassis finished
-
CZ: Taktez gratuluji k dceri.
Jezdis se svymi modely na souteze CPM? Oni se na tyhlety retuse divaji dost pres prsty...
:usenglish: Concratulation for your daughter.
I asked, how are his models judged in official competitions. This kind of retouch looks very good, but our jurys dislike it...
-
:usenglish:
that is good question /see that Radek knows the situation/
- I am presented on CPM /Centrum of Paper Models/ competitions/shows
- I am a member of CPM
- it is truth that model like this can be rated for General Impression full rating, but quality and neatness of cut, form, glue and retouch can not be judged and total rating of this model will be just the same as a rating of non-patined substandard model - this is realityAre you building models because of getting medals??
-
:usenglish: No - I am building models for time wasting :).
-
Radek: I thought it
/ I am doing the same. Allthough marked Brno - I live in such small village close to Brno wher is absolutely NO PUB :)/Front seats - formed /specialy driver´s/ by his a__
-
My situation is just different. I have a pub directly ahead my door. (and next one is three hundred meters left side) But it is not good placement too... -
Radek - I only wanted to say that my only hobby is FULL TIME CARDMODELING
Last weekend was nice time to make a lot on my Jeep - check the pictures /and let me give you comment:
steering wheel is bigger than an original part from Modelik´s card-model, because pictures of Jeep to be builded looks so. Marking on the front screen are hand painted - not sure about correctnes of colours - pictures which have are B/W and poor quality. The hole in the right side of front screen should be according to picture - I have got/
-
Basic version of "Whisky in the Jar" is finished...
...now to be done pipe construction of Sherman-tank body and cover it with painted tent
-
Hi, Bernie!
Your 'Rat-Jeep' looks pretty good! It is a wonderful model, full of details and surprises. =D>
Kindly regards
Josef
-
CZ: Vypada velmi realisticky. Coz takhle zkusit udelat fotomontaz s nejakou realnou krajinou?
:usenglish:: It looks very realistic. I suggest to make a photomontage with real exterior.
-
Thank you very much Josef for your comment /since assembly drawings of Modelik are not good, looked very often on your "workbench" and also checked Jiri Velocha´s jr Jeep /cardmodeler´s club Delfin Prostejov!/. .
Radek, wait until model completely finished /main target is to make B/W pictures to make a comparison of real Jeep and model Jeep/
anyway thank you for your comment. -
pipe body of Sherman tank assemblied /still to be painted and covered with tent in design of Sherman
-
What a bad luck Michael /you are more interested with every picture about this project/, project is over.
Model "Whisky in the Jar" is FINISHED
/still to be done over the weekend some patina repairs and outdoor picture taking/Thanks to everybody who visited this "bauberichte" and hope you enjoy pictures of finished model /some pictures are taken in B/W regime to be close as possible to real Jeep from Scotland - Mai 1944/
-
....sorry I forgot to add 2pictures of real Jeep to be compared with cardmodel.
-
Hey bernie!
You left out the soldier!!Congregulations for your perfect modeling =D> =D> =D>
-
Knooty, thank you for nice words
Have opened galery of Jeep on
-
Well....what a great build!! Had a lot of pleasure following your prosess and the images did say more then thousand words!!
-
Hello all, yestreday when I went to local stationary shop for more Xmas designed packiging paper, founded a cardmodel of Parodia /CZ/ publisher of Sherman tank. I have spended about 1Eur for this model - to make according of its design new tarpaulin cover of Jeep in design of Sherman tank.
Going to make also tank turret - not covered only wire constructionOn picture attached you can see:
- left side UP - material used for tarpaulin - handkerchief, Kores - glue, Aquarell colours
- left side DOWN - tarpaulin in process of painting
- right side - cardmodell of Sherman tank and Jeep without tarpaulin and open engine body - where want to appoint burned out paint from engine body cover -
Hello all, new version of tarpaulin cover of wire-tank-body finished including tank-turret
I hope that now is clear what the model should be looking like /first version was not so easy to understand/
enjoy pictures -
Hi Bernie!
I am impressed with your imaginative builds.
To think some soldier was driving a jeep around Scotland pretending to be a Sherman tank..., Do you think he also pretended to be a tank commander too? This would make a great motion picture segment...,
-Gil Russell
-
Gil, thank you very much for your nice words.
For sure including soldier would be a model much more attractive, but this topic is OVER now.
Every model is an experience for me eg
PN1,5t trailor- was experience how to perform tarpaulin from handkerchief
Willys Jeep was experience how to make model of an exact car from authentic WWII picture
Now workin´on KrAZ 255B
which should be including model-pad of wood with elements of different materials simulating enviroment of real truck. And then may be I will start to make dioramas incl. figures
Have a card - time
