Let's start. At the beginning was the morning coffee and random surfing on the net looking for something about Dakar 2007, so I got on Loprais team's page and tatra.cz and found one interesting Tatra model I haven't seen or heard before. Two hours later I was working on my other model under construction, Tatra 147 DC5. Well... not really working, more like tidying up and finally I've closed it all in the box, because I couldn't stop thinking at that Tatra, which looks like this:

And so the search for some documentation began. Something was found on the official Tatra website, but it was very poor - no info about vehicle's width. According to the photograph on this forum http://www.liaz.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=354&start=0 I assumed that it is as wide as Dana or Zuzana (in that I was completely wrong). It's only 2550 mm wide, but I learned that two weeks later.

Next came the main frame. The work was quite interesting, because I had no idea about its width. Spida knows I tried to ask him, but he replied "advise you? No, you..." (I had some problems with warez), so I had to figure it out myself. Then I met a man who is building the same Tatra as me, although RC model, container carrier in 1:10, but he helped me with the width and the mainframe was been made.

Photos are poor, but there will be better ones. These were taken at night at about 2:00 and my wife was asleep, so I couldn't use the flash (pozn.: pochopil jsem dobre, ze jsi fotil normalne pod stolni lampou, protoze neslo blejskat? Nebo jsi tim normalnim svetlem myslel neco jineho?)

And after all, when I wanted to fit it there I realized that it's 2 cm wider than it should be, so I trimmed wheel disk by 3 mm, brake drum by another 3 mm and here we go. Then the air cushions. Well, something awesome. Why this very car must have pneumo on front axle too... on older models there e just simple leaf springs, but now how to make it, if it must look like a cushion and really work, allowing the axles to tilt freely? At first it was like this:

As a little relax and also because I didn't know how to proceed, I added the bumper to the frame.

When it was done, I returned to the axle. I've redesigned the cushions and created damper holds and this is the result from today 00:46 am:
