software for making models.

  • Hello anyone,
I'm looking for a software which I can make my own model-build a 3-d model and make it printed model.
    Can anyone help me, please?

    Thank you,
    Ron.

  • Hi ronash,

there are different solutions, cheap ones and expensive ones:

    1. Rhino3D costs about 1000 Euro and needs much learning.

    2. Pepakura costs about 30 Euros, imports many 3D-Formats and is for easy models.

    3. Blender + Inkscape costs nothing, but it is tricky to learn.

    4. Draw with pencil and ruler or use a vector drawing program (such as Corel Draw).

    Cheers Bernhard

    PS.:
Try to use Sketchup, if you want to build an arcitectural model:

  • hello Bernhard,
    Thank you for responding.
While you were answering, I started to build a 3-d shape of what I want (Janusz Korczak's orphanage), and I almost finished, but I don't know how to make the last shape of what I want, so I'm transfer it to Pepakura, and from there I'll draw it on photoshop and make the last part on photoshop too.

    Thanks,
    Ron.

  • ok, I made my model with sketch-up, and there is the link:

just, in Pepakura, it doesn't look good.
Also, in the model you see 2 quarters of circle, but its 2 full circles, and in Pepakura I see 2 full circles, insteadof 2 quarters.
Can anyone please make for me a diagaram for it?

    Thank you very much,
    Ron.
