Hi Jorg,
Great idea. A ground shot looking up like this?[Blocked Image: http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4456/southtower8kx.jpg]

Hi John,
like all your Pictures here.

Jorg,
One last shot for you then. Here is that backyard view, without the sky. Imagine how many times this magnificant structure has been photographed by tourists? Perhaps one of the most recognizable buildings in the world.
Next week, I'll take a few shots of a well known castle in the Mosel Valley.Cheers...John

This is one of my favorite cathedrals, mainly because of the huge flying buttresses.
John, may I ask how you handled the transept doors in this kit? I found the design solidly flawed X( The pieces tend to bulge the outside walls... -
Hi Ricleite,
I do recall problems with the fit of the arches above and alongside the doors. But more so on the main west doors. They just did not fit. I believe I had to cut and reassemble them in pieces to get the parts to fit properly.
There was one other significant problem with parts design on this model. The little inner, lower buttresses at the back of the cathedral were improperly designed. Did you observe this? They tended to tip forward instead on standing vertical. The pinnacles above them leaned percariously inward. I had to make new parts out of card and glue parts of the printed pieces to them. This problem was discussed on one of the other card modelling sites in some detail.Cheers....John

Hi John,
Yes, I also experienced serious problems with the small double buttresses. Some time ago I wrote a construction review for this kit. It is available at lighthousemodelart.com, in the first issue of their magazine. You can see, there, that we came exactly to the same solution
For the transept doors, it looks, in your pictures, that you managed to implement a simpler solution than me. I also had some problems with the main doors but they were easier to solve. -
Hi John,
Great build and very impressive pictures =D> =D> =D>
Nothing more to say...best regards
