sicher habt Ihr euch schon gewundert, warum auf einmal ein solcher Andrang bei den Anmeldungen zu diesem Forum herrschte. Der Grund dafür war wohl ein Hinweis auf den Modellbauwettbewerb, den ich
in Mike Hungerfords englischem Newsforum für Papiermodellbau

am 3. Mai folgenden Hinweis auf den Modellbauwettbewerb gegeben hatte.

Daraufhin ging dort eine wahre Lawine an Beiträgen dort ein, weil sich einige Herrschaften mangels Kenntnis der deutschen Sprache nicht oder nicht richtig anmelden konnten, die Bestätigungsmailo nicht abgewartet hatten und was der Dinge mehr sind. Der Moderator der Gruppe, Mike Hungerford, schrieb daraufhin folgendes:

Perhaps we should avoid in the future posting about new models with attached conditions such as this one. It's not fair to the
people who run that group, and who have the cooperation of GPM for use of the model, for all of us to jump in and join simply to
acquire another model we're unlikely to ever build. :-/

Mike bat mich dann, nachdem er dies bereits in einer englischen Mail an den Administrator "herrschar" getan hatte, die Sachlage auch aus meiner Sicht zu schildern. - siehe unten -

I believe, it was a big failure of me to need the word "free" (in quotation marks!!!) in my thread, sorry again for the trouble.
The Kartonbau-group is very interesting for me, informations in my own language without using babelfish and dictionnaires - but some of the old guys here naturally knows all the informations in this new group and for this, it is not so interest.
The trouble about the Bofors gun has similar waves as Mr.T.'s little game with the StuKa in the past (I have enjoyed this, because it was an originally way to test the "customers" of his site, but not now with the Bofors, I don't - I believe, I read only Catch, Catch, Catch - Poor material world!)
Sure, I am enjoyed, too, to find paper models, who are free and in good design, but regullary I buy interest models if they correspond my taste (like Schreibers Blauwal - see the photos from Western Ship Model Conference) or try to construct my own.
What I don't can understand is, that some people will only only catch this model and make no thoughts to look behind - the competition from this group sems to be a secondary matter.

Ich kann nur versichern, es lag nicht in meiner Absicht, einen solchen Run und einen evtl. Downloadmißbrauch mit dem von GPM für den Wettbewerb zur Verfügung gestellten Modell auszulösen. Die "Gier" nach freien Downloads habe ich wohl gewaltig überschätzt, dafür bitte ich um Entschuldigung!
