Hello Chris,

really an excellent work! That's how a built Bismarck should be. =D>

Any other pictures of some details? 8)

Best regards

Hi Rene, thanks for your message which was much appreciated - I rarely get to discuss my hobby with a sympathetic (or indeed interested) audience as card modelling is very much a minority interest in England!

Here are some more pictures in close up.

Kind regards

Hi Chris,

absolutely fine modelling you're showing here. When i look at the Bismarck, i think of a large, swimming city. So many nooks and corners to rest ones eyes upon, really marvellous =D> =D>

One question remains: Where do you keep this big-sized treasure?

Keep up the modelling and don't hesitate to show us more of it ;)

Great model Mr. Palmer!! I have in the pipe a GPM Missouri and a Halanski FUSO. I may have to sell some other stuff to attempt to build either of them.Sure is fun to look at the books of parts and instructions. My current build is a tall ship the Constitution by Bluejacket models.

Hi Chris,
I appriciate your building of the GPM Bismarck.
You have created a really fine model.
As we are witnesses to many HMV Bismarcks here, it`s fine to see that are are other constructors.

Great work and great determination! The BPM Bismark kit takes a lot of effort that most of us cannot sustain. Congratulations on a great looking model!

Thank you for all your comments - there were some problems with the model (no surprises!), mainly because I managed to get a very useful book of photos part way through building - Warship Pictorial no. 19 - and realised that the kit was inaccurate in many ways compared to the original; I retained most of the kit parts but had to modify many items (the main and secondary armament in particular) and this slowed me down very much. It also meant that I had to paint over the parts I had altered to cover over the wrong shapes and it is always difficult to match printed colours with the available model paints. The same thing is happening with the GPM Admiral Graf Spee which I am now working on - tonight's task is to add some missing portholes/windows using a draughtsman's pen and some watercolour; I am not really looking forward to this!

Never mind, models of these beautiful ships at this scale are really worthwhile - the only problem is housing them; our home is nearly full up and it's good that the Graf Spee is a smaller model than the Bismarck, otherwise there might have been some problems - we have already two airships at 1:200 scale hanging from the ceiling!
