I'm getting back to planes for a while
The subject is one of the most strange shapes in the sky!...
I went for the Halinski kit. It dates back to 2000 but was reissued recently. It has 13 B4 pages with printed parts and some more with instructions, as you can see in the pictures.

Jo,
I'm excited to see your Skills at this model!
-
Hello Ric,
I build this model as a free-download in a few hours! Perhaps a possibility for you to become familiar with this model. I don't know yet the free-download-address. on the bottom is written FLY'N THINGS.
Greetings from The Lipperland
Hajo -
You are most welcome, Norman and Henni
HANS that free model looks reasonably accurate! Surely more than the F-117 of the Golden Book of Paper ModelsThe first assembly is the raison dêtre of the plane: the bombs! Pretty big, if you ask me. They completely dwarf those of the Lightning, which I assembled earlier this year
-
I'm also looking very much forward to follow your building report again!
Have much fun with the build!
Greetings,
Walter -
Hi Ric!!
Looking forward to follow your build!!
You always does very nice and clean work!! -
Thanks, Walter and Josve
The bomb supports take up a fair share of the number of parts. Today, it is only the beginning... -
Welcome back Ric ... in style.
-
Nice to have you here, Keith. As you see, Im getting back to planes on stealth mode
-
It's nice to be back Ric,amongst such good company.
The supports you are working on look very small.
Are there many more to come, and how are you cutting them at this
size it must mean using tweezers & magnifying glass? What will the next step be Ric,is it onto the fuselage or undercarriage?
Superb work as always.
Best regards,Keith.
-
@ Norman I suppose that it is just a reissue. If anyone knows more, Id be glad to listen
@ Keith As you might guess, the undercarriage will be next. I like to make the small assemblies first. The bomb supports will be left as they are until a much later construction stage. For cutting, I continue to trust the old and ubiquitous little knife and a pair of eyes that I dont complain about =)
I should be off for a few days. In the meantime, let me wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :prost:
-
The bomb compartment is a great cardmodel making! Also the Paveway!
Looking forward to more...
-
Hi Ricardo,
If you are reading this before your stealthy departure for a few days, I thought you would like to know that I slipped onto your thread to steal a peek.Great work as always. Enjoy the holidays.
John -
@ Wiesel - There is a lot to come I amassed a substantial number of pictures during the holidays
@ John - I didnt but I thank you the same way: not in stealthy mode
The wheels were made with the same method as those in the Lightning. Im pretty happy with it. -
Rlclero mnou llvmn mn stnnd
Hops sorry - had to adjust my jaw as it drops on the desk. So once again:
Ricardo, you leave me stunned but in a positive way. Man look at this: This parts look flawless! It´s really a pleasure to follow your building reports and every time i see them, i want to buy the featured model-kit . -

Thanks, Zec, and I guess you would be happy with this one
Well, time to go to the main undercarriage and a trick to make a wire get out laterally on a rolled paper part -
Great modelling!
-
Hi Ric,
you actually don't use glue, do you? All the parts are so clean...amazing.Cheers
Jan -
Hello Ric & firstly a very Happy New Year to you.
The work.. amazing!
I thought the Lightning was unbeatable but i see yet again
you have surpassed even that masterpiece. This looks to promise a very nice model once complete and
i guess many more intricate parts to follow before we get
there.Keep up the good work Ric and as always thank you for
the pictures.Best regards,
Keith. -
@ Jan - I do use glue but as few as possible. Cleaner and cheaper
@ Keith - A very Happy New Year to you, too and, yes, a lot more is to come However, I think this kit is not as 'polished' as that of the Lightning. That is not surprising because this kit is older... -
Hello Ric,
An older kit yes,but from the precision of your build you would
never know.
A bit different just building a kit in black & white with no colour?I see the new Orlik 1/33 B25 Mitchell kit is out and live in hope
that you may tackle this model one day.
I can imagine with your skills the finished product.Happy building Ric.
Best regards,
Keith. -
One click leads me to the Ricardo world where I see pictures filled with the distinctive flavor that I love very much and at the same time it devastates me so much that it induces seesaw of love and jealousy...
Cheers,
Devastated Yu -
@ Yu - you have been idle for quite a while in the Bn-21, haven't you? That worries me Too much work or not enough patience
@ Keith - The B-25 is not on my next shopping list. I have read mixed reports about Orlik and choosing such an ambitious model to begin with this publisher might not be the best idea. However, I plan to buy a copy of the latest Orlik (Lippisch P.13a) to feel in my hands what Orlik does. Maybe the B-25 will come next Another drawback is that the B-25 has some complex canopies and, as far as I know, there are no accessories available.
At the moment, I have just one big plane in the stockpile (GPMs Gotha) and two more on the shopping list Flys Vimy and GPMs Ju-52. Perhaps one of them will become my big model of the year
Well, on to the pilots seat. -
Hello Ric,
I fully understand your line of thinking with the B25 as i have seen it
and the perspex framing is a major challenge on its own.The detail on the pilots seat looks very good for the age of the
model as you say,but i think the cutting precision you manage so
well gives it the 'edge' so well done.I imagine the structure for the fuselage before covering will look
quite interesting too, given the shape of this aircraft.I look forward to the next instalment Ric but in the meantime a
good weekend to you.Best regards,
Keith. -
@ Keith - I guess you are right. The fuselage is very broad in plan view and the structure will be big as well.
The flaps and ailerons have strange shapes to catch and dissipate radar energy. I put some card parts inside, to get the desired shape. -
Hello Ric,
The shape of the parts get stranger and stranger.
The cutting gets sharper and sharper and the interest
gathers pace.On the large model front i have the GPM B29 and also
the Fly' Vulcan B2 in 'the hangar' but still have to find
the time to start them. The large scale Lightning had to be shelved as i have to
obtain a new printer now and so its a future project. What comes next on your model Ric?
All the elevators and doors?
Nice to see some coloured parts coming along, and at
least with this model there are so many straight lines
to cut!Best regards,
Keith. -
-
Some more assemblies - main gear doors and laser / infrared turrets...
-
@) Seeing your clear build amazes me again and again, but seeing the build in comparison to a 1-Cent coin leaves me really speechless!
Keep on, Ric! Your building reports are great!
Greetings,
Walter -

@ Yu - you have been idle for quite a while in the Bn-21, haven't you? That worries me Too much work or not enough patienceI don't worry because royaloakmin took over my job
BTW, your last picture looks enchanting finger ring with jewely!!! -
@ Walter - thanks and I guess you'll like the head up display
@ Yu - so, your business moved on from paper modelling to franchising Just for a while, I hope -
Hi Ric!
I can't believe it. Each time I look at your pics, one question appears in my mind: "How is this possible?"
Your work is so accurate and clean! Amazing. I have to come back to Jan's comment: I am sure you use no glue. Be honest: You look at the parts and say: "Connect" and then they are connected without glue It must have to do something with the Cosmic Force. Or maybe some alien technique?Great! How can you do this?
Regards,
Claus -
@ Claus - I cant get into top secret details but you forgot the fundamental step: concentrate the mind before saying Connect :D. It doesnt work if you dont concentrate
The cockpit is complete. On, now, to the fuselage structure... -
The fuselage structure looks solid and is solid!
-
I don't know if you were already asked: What glue do you use?
-
Claus - I use several types of glue. For buildings, UHU all-purpose for almost everything. Sometimes, I use white glue for extra strength. For planes and trains, I use white glue. For reinforcing parts with card, UHU all-purpose or UHU power. Sometimes, I also use cianoacrilate glue. That is becoming less common, as I find out that white glue works well almost all the times...
-
The upper fuselage skin is made up of just a few parts. I glued them together with narrow strips of thin paper. Now, the complicated task is to match the whole thing with the fuselage structure.
-
Ricardo, outstanding, as always! The kit looks deceptively simple.
-
@ Royaloakmin - The kit is a bit strange, just like the subject. It has a good deal of detail and small parts but most of what you see is a small number of big and not very colouful parts. Halinski is hardly to blame, here
Well, let's go to the last construction pictures... -
Hi Ric,
Tu haver terminado outro magnifico parte trabalhar
(I hope it reads well,i tried)
Adeus,
Keith.
