Thank you Dustin for your encouragement =)

I am not celebrating a Christmas lighting a candle.
To make part B in second picture, first applied heat to OHP film using candle then press it onto the mold made from hard wood.
As to part A, just scrape clear plastic with knife and painted clear red and blue respectively

RE: you never walk alone........

Dear Frank-san,
:yahoo: I found out the thread on your very nice chopper :super:. And also found out our taste in model seems to be similar. Both you and I built aircrafts, ships, steam locomotives and buildings.
One more similarity is we have three kids though you have only lovely girls and me only boys :(

Today's work is Folding-fin aerial rocket.
First cutout holes then glued tubes backside of it. Finally glued black paper at the end of tubes.
Today finished only one disc. I have to make 3 more.

Best regards,

Hello Yu,

You have succeeded in the rocket ship incredibly! =D> =D> =D>
Your helicopter takes more and more form. I think you only lack the rotor blades soon. :prost:

Thanks Stephan.
I have to make missiles and some more small parts before making rotor blades ;)

Today assembled missiles.
Made clear parts at the tip of missiles from OHP film by means of heat press because it is the easiest way and suitable for me lazy modeler :rotwerd:

I have made 30mm automatic cannon just according to kit instruction but compared to real Apache lack of frames around gun doesn’t look good so added frames using 1mm dia. brass rod and painted.

Hello OHI-san!

Thank you very much for your comment

Today assembled tail rotor.
As the parts included in the kit aren’t satisfactory, I’ve newly made out parts except rotor blade and main shaft.
I used 0.1mm dia. Wire for wiring but it should have been thicker…

super work on the tail rotor!

Hi Martin, many thanks for cheering up my spirits. Also your precise modeling on Hayabusa is inspiring!!!

Helicopter’s rotor is highly visible so I try to make it look realistic. But construction of kit’s rotor is so simple that I had to modify it.
As is shown in the picture 1 I replaced base of main rotor with newly made one.
Picture 2 shows added strip of paper.
Picture 3 shows added trapezoidal shape parts and bolts made from plastic round bar.
There are a lot more small parts I have to make newly for rotor but I am tired now and need some refreshment before deal with them.

What a wonderful enhancement to the rotor hub! You must have had intimate knowledge of its construction to create the parts. Did you research before designing it?

Fantastic construction Yu.

What a lovely family portrait, Yu @) @) @)
As for the Apache's rotor hub, well, no words ( @), =D> etc... :rotwerd: ) but a question - did you put a wire inside the blades or is it just the card strip that does the trick?

64

Samstag, 18. Oktober 2008, 15:23

Thank you guys for your encouraging words.

My paper modeling started in Sep. 2004. First year completed 16, second year 14, third year 2 and 4th year 7. Now, four-year modeling caused chronic stiff shoulders so I don’t recommend you to build a lot in short time.

I didn't put a wire inside the blades former. To avoid dangling blade applied glue on both upper and bottom sides of former and put blade parts on it.

Now finished rotor hub. Although there need some more parts on rotor shaft I want to know how it looks like to have rotor on the chopper.

Ah, Norman-san your new avatar must be the poster of your favorite oldies Goon Show that you explained a year ago. Isn't it?

At last main rotor assembly finished.
First, made four sets of parts shown in picture 1 rolling up green printed regular copy paper around 0.5mm dia. copper wire because copper wire is easy to form.
Second, made two sets of parts shown in picture 2. Also used green painted regular copy paper for these parts.
Then, glued all those parts in place.

Remaining works are steps and rocket ammunition

Apache is nearing finish.
Today, made rails from 0.8mm dia. brass rod and glued in the place.
Next step is rocket ammunition. I made if in the way some modeler hate. That is round up regular copy paper then sand the tip and finally paint gray lacquer.
Remaining work is making 28 more rockets. Today, I am tired of repetition work....
