Uiih, guter Fund. Endlich mal wieder was ziviles. Und sehr mit Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Das ist bestimmt was für Martin.

Gruß
Jan

Another great model by Philippe Renneson, who has also made the Pou du Ciel. Excellent for rescaling, since the model comes as a vectored pdf.

The kit comes in 11 pages, plus parts list and instructions (in French). The model is very nicely detailed (look at the simple, but very nice tubular framework parts), and aimed at experienced builders:

It looks a lot like a control-line stunter model, doesn't it? And yet the original is a full-size aircraft of course.

A Google search for photos confirms this - there are quite a few RC models of the Dalotel.

It seems like the original has a somewhat softer yellow then the model. Check Airliners.net:

See alson the information link provided:

These are the only two photos of the Dalotel I've been able to find. Which figures, since it was a prototype, finished in 1969.

Here are the relevant links to the model, again:

While we are on the subject, both the Pou du Ciel and the Dalotel Viking models by Philippe Rennesson come from Pierre Gauriat's excellent page with free models (buildings, aircraft, cars).

The Pou du Ciel kit has been reviewed on this site by Marcus.

If anyone, by any chance, is seriously interested in attempting the very nice Pou du Ciel model in 1/16 (roughly double its original size), I have done the groundwork (enlarged it and rearranged the parts on longer sheets; similar to the Suisei which is published as a download here at Kartonbau.de).

Since I haven't been able to establish contact with the designer, I didn't feel free to offer it publicly. However, if I am convinced that a friend here is seriously interested in trying it in larger scale I see no objection to sharing the files privately (since the original after all is available as free download).

Die Vorlage zu Hanno Prettners WM-Modell 1978!!!

Ich hatte die Ehre, ihn in den frühen 80ern mit diesem Flugzeug fliegen zu sehen. Ein weltmeisterlicher Genuß schlechthin!
